During a recent stay at the Luminary, we decided to walk over and have dinner at The Lucky Screw based on the menu and some of the reviews. For some reason, my teen thought this place would be fancy – I laughed and said with their name, I figured it’d be a bar. But it’s not what I would consider bar food – it’s definitely nicer than that. We got there for happy hour on a Monday, and it was pretty empty. We had our pick of seats and had great service. There was live music somewhere – we sat in the front part and didn’t really walk around, so I have no idea where the guy was. He sure liked to test the mic a lot – my kid started counting the number of times he’d say, “testing 1, 2” – even after he had already started singing songs. This was quite amusing to my kid for some reason! Here is what we ordered and thought of each dish:

The place was a nice place, they had a one man live band which was nice but was over all too loud that you had to talk loudly over table. Our server was not friendly at all. She didn’t smile once and just didn’t seem happy. The food was okay. The Ahi Tuna was a little dry but with the eel sauce was fine. The Maple Chicken Sammy was tasty. It was huge with two pieces of chicken. I ordered the premium side upgrades of the truffle fries which most definitely isn’t worth the money.

My wife and I really like this place and it is NOT part of the big chain of restaurants downtown. I think the food is outstanding for a reasonable price, the staff is friendly, and the vibe is a relaxed and modern sports bar. Rachel has been out server on both occasions at the bar, she’s been great.

Good food. The dueling cheese platter is really good. Thia chili wing have just the right amount of heat. The honey on the burrata was a night surprise. Good service. We Wandered in for Sunday brunch and had great food! We will be back.

The band they had August 26, 2023 was awful. It was something station. The lead singer was just yelling/screaming the whole time. I saw her in the bathroom she shot me multiple dirty looks than didn’t wash her hands talk about nasty! I love this bar! But that one band was not it at all she single handedly killed all and any vibes! Idk who hired them but they ain’t it at all!
