The Main Event Restaurant and Lounge has many items on their Menu that sound Delicious but , Everything seems very much Overpriced . It is a very nice atmosphere if you can afford the price. According to the Menu , the Steak is $110.00 . I hope that is a misprint . I really think a New Restaurant needs to put their best foot forward , but they should not expect Customers to buy them NEW SHOES Everytime they walk in the door. The food is not completely authentic to Jamaican Cuisine. Maybe the next restaurant in this location will make a go of it. The 2 is pretty much for the beautiful decorations.

I accompanied Ralph to a dinner with his friends at Maine Event Restaurant & Lounge tonight, and we all had a great time. The food was ok, the service was a little bit slow, and the atmosphere was perfect for a night out but the food was A little poorly served in terms of presentation, and they did not have food available that was on the menu.

I am a native of Greenwood but currently live in Brooklyn, NY. I’ve always wanted my hometown to have restaurants with menu items you could get in major cities but it just seemed out of reach for Greenwood until the Maine Event. This restaurant made me feel like I was back eating in my Caribbean neighborhood in New York! The service was great and the food was excellent, hot, fresh, and well seasoned. I was bragging and sending photos of my food to my friends back in New York proud of what is now being offered in Greenwood. Also the prices are great! I spent under $100 on dinner for me and 2 guests with appetizers! Side note: if the $100 steak being out of your price range is enough to make you leave a poor review, maybe you should just stay in your range (there are many affordable items on the menu) and strive for greater.

Me and a friend went here for drinks and a quick bite and left very disappointed. I ordered the fried fish with dirty rice and macaroni as my sides. The food was horrible. The dirty rice was not done, the fish was fried so crispy it did not have that flaky element to it anymore and the macaroni did not taste homemade. The service wasn’t great either, we had a male bartender who was full of life but the others did not give us a very welcoming feeling, failing to greet us apon entry.

Went to Main event and Lounge to atmosphere was great music was on point food was 7 out of 10 but I will definitely go back The red snapper was good but could have been scored to insure season and more even cook they have a very broad menu. Go try it want be the worst thing you can do it wasn’t pricey at all for me 3 of us ate for $65

The food does not taste like it is authentic Caribbean food. I am from Jamaican decent and I know what authenticity of Caribbean spices taste like. I will just say this place is over priced and truly not honest about the details of the recipes. I ordered the lamb which looked like the lamb meat came from an anorexic animal they were also tasteless. I also ordered the jerk oxtails which were not bad but still the taste was not authentic to the Caribbean genre. Honestly I give the food 2 on a scale of 1-5 and I have no problem paying for expensive entrees at all but this food was not equal to the price. Highly disappointed. I won’t come here again for the food. Maybe I’ll try a drink in their lounge one day….maybe. It’s sad I was really looking forward to a taste of the Caribbean to be in little ole Greenwood. Sad to say they did not understand the assignment. Very disappointed !

The food is great, they give you fairly big portions as well. The restaurant area and the lounge area are both really nice too. It’s definitely a great spot for a night out or a date night. Any time I’ve been the service has been great too!

Stomach was messed up for 2 days after eating here, not sure if it was food or if I had a bug but don’t plan on going back. The service was on point though, we had a waiter and he was very polite and even bought a round of drinks for us!
