My family and I ate here for breakfast while staying at the hotel. The avocado toast and summer yogurt were both excellent. The pancakes looked amazing but we’re less flavorful than I expected. Service was friendly, but slow considering there were only a few other patrons when we were there. The ambiance is great- lovely decor including photos of old mayors. The hotel is built on the site of the old city hall and parking lot.

A very amazing experience at Mayor’s Table this afternoon. The restaurant is so beautiful and well-designed. We just stopped by to have drinks at the bar. Our bartender Guy is professional and friendly. His drinks are very delicious. I had a Aperol Spritz and my husband had a few Dirty Martinis. I was inspired by the restaurant fish logo James, and spontaneously did a doodle sketch at the bar. Surprisingly the restaurant manager came over to meet me, and said he liked my artwork. Thanks for the sweet words and the great experience. I definitely recommend this cool place.

There were an impressive number of drink choices including signature cocktails, wine and beer. I chose the Deck Hand Cocktail – their take on a classic Manhattan – made with Bulleit Rye. It was equal parts bracing and refreshing. A generous orange peel gave it flair. Which is the perfect segue in describing the entrance of my appetizer and what an entrance it was!

This place was too pretentious for me. The restaurant tries a bit too hard to be like Mastro’s with their prices but lacks decadent menu that Mastro’s offers. Our meat dishes came out without any veggies. This is after asking if I can swap the risotto that accompany the meat dish with fries. They said yes but then later charged us extra for it. While the other meat dish had nothing but meat when it was supposed to come with mushrooms. They tried real hard to upsell you. The restaurant ambiance is nice for a party though. They need to work on their limited and lackluster menu to match what they charge. However, the pork chop was good quality. Just wish they accompany it with some veggies.

Gourmet breakfast in Newport. Amazing short rib hash with eggs. I recommend poached eggs for that dish. The breakfast sandwich however was not that great, dry and flavorless with inconsistently cooked bacon. Wonderful ambience.
