It’s hard for me to overstate how much I absolutely love The Mean Pig BBQ. Their Smoked Frito Pie is my favorite meal…as in favorite thing to eat on the planet. I love it. Each time we eat here my wife makes me ask what cobbler they have. Regardless of what it is, if it isn’t already sold out, we’re ordering it too.

Stopped in while waiting for tires down at Kirks tire service, they recommended and we were not disappointed, we ordered the sampler platters and the hot sauce.. perfect heat and sweet balance. All was good and we got the to go boxes since we new we would have left overs, only wish we had more ribs so we could’ve taken some home.

It was good. I liked the food. If you know what you want, this is the place for you. There are no hostesses. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Very fast food-ish. I expected to be waited on and served. But, can’t complain about the food. It was good.

I had the jumbo beef sandwich and it was so disappointing. The meat had nearly no flavor on its own, almost like it was cooked in a crockpot, not smoked. The medium sauce was not good either. The only bright spot was the lady working the drive thru, she was very friendly. Do yourself a favor and try a different BBQ restaurant nearby.

My family was so excited to try some southern BBQ for the first time. However, we were so disappointed with the food. We ordered ribs, 1lb or beef brisket, 1lb of pork, cole slaw, potato salad, and beans. The meats had absolutely no flavor, even after adding the bbq sauce I couldn’t finish eating my sandwich. The potato salad, and cole slaw, and beans were just “ok”. The only thing everyone enjoyed was the ribs because they were tender. The staff was nice. Needless to say never going there again. I hope all southern bbq is not as bad as this.

We have come to this place off and on for several years but this morning had the most disappointing experience. Everything was cold including the buns. My sandwich came foil-wrapped and even the foil was cold. My partner got a plate and his was cold also. I felt like we got yesterdays leftovers.

I was passing through the area the other day and almost stopped at Burger King. However, I got out of my car and all of the sudden the smell of BBQ hit me and I could not resist but walk over to which I discovered Mean Pig BBQ. Simply put, it was some of the best BBQ I have had in a long time. Too bad I don’t live closer or I would be coming here every day.
