Small and unassuming little place in new Smyrna, where the food tastes as good as it smells. They have a waffle bar with all kinds of different fixings you can choose from, and to die for fresh made beignets. With the venues, you can also pick a couple different options. I really enjoyed the cinnamon one. They have a couple different flavors of gold to choose from and you can have it with sparkling wine to make a fun twist on a mimosa.

Get the dole whip “mermosa” its very cute!! We came for a bachelorette party breakfast and all the food was amazing. Brenna was our server and she did such an awesome job taking care of our party of 6. Jim, the owner, is SO sweet and made us feel so special!!

MUST STOP HERE!!!! Visited NSB (from Ohio) over the 4th of July and was the most excited to visit this place! The waffles are incredible and just so pretty! Dole whip mimosa, 11/10. Food & drinks even came with glitter. Was lucky enough to meet the owners who were super nice – cannot wait to go back on the future

The mermaid cafe is an absolute gem! We ordered the beignets and breakfast sandwich. Everything tasted amazing especially the bacon! The service was very friendly and quick (Jim and Tara made sure we got our meal quickly before our flight!) if you are in the area I would definitely recommend stopping here. We will be back to try some waffles and dole whip next !

From North Carolina visiting for the weekend. Found this restaurant from word of mouth from a few different locals in the area. The restaurant is small and seating is limited but we were able to be seated relatively quickly even during peak breakfast hours. Our hostess and server was very polite and attentive to our order and requests. The owner came around to all of the tables to make sure everything was exceptional. That’s a thing you don’t see too often in restaurants anymore. Was definitely a nice touch and was appreciated. The food was very delicious and flavorful as well. Absolutely would come again if I’m in the area. Ordered the Strawberry shortcake waffles.

First time stopping in for Sunday breakfast and we were blown away!! Got the NSB waffle for sweet, the breakfast burrito for savory, and of course dole whip mimosas Everything was delicious, service was great, and always good to see the owners around and checking on customers. Highly recommend!

We had an awesome brunch at the Mermaid Cafe yesterday before hitting the spa for pedis. The menu had so many tantalizing options that it made it hard to choose. We started by ordering Dole Whip Mermosas, which are like a float made with the dole whip flavor of your choice topped with Prosecco. Then we decided to split the NSB Waffle and the Breakfast Burrito, and were not disappointed. Being a local, I have to say that they have the best breakfast burrito I’ve had in this town! NSB Waffle was a light and airy treat that had the perfect balance of sweet and tart. The owner, Jim, came by our table to ensure that we enjoyed our meal and even gave us a couple fresh beignets to try, which were delicious as well. Can’t wait to return to try more! Definitely a local gem!

If you’re ever in the New Smyna Beach area visit The Mermaid Cafe! They have the best variety of absolutely huge waffles with most any topping and/or filling you could imagine!! And while the waffles are a show stopper, try one of their Dole Whip mimosas! I’ll definitely go back!

Staying at the Riverview Inn. One of the perks is free breakfast at The Mermaid Caef next door. Nice place, pleasantly decorated, food and service excellent. The owner, Jim, stopped by to check on me. We ended up having a nice conversation about retirement, where we came from, and enjoyed each other’s company for 10 minutes or so.
