It’s been many years since I’ve been here, but I was determined to get back this trip. The Shrimply the Best did not disappoint! As delicious as I remember all those years ago and the service was great! Located in the Riverbend area (on the streetcar line) with lots of parking, this gem offers a twist on the local sandwich/poboy offerings. So worth it!

Everything you’d want in a fun funky indie sandwich/coffee shop. Incredible sandwiches and salads (several delicious vegetarian options) which all have fun pop culture related names, plentiful beverage options, and a fun decor theme that is just the right amount of visually interesting and amusing.

I was on vacation in New Orleans and on our last day there before heading to the airport we we’re passing by and decided to check it out randomly. The lamb poboy was so delicious that I wept tears of joy with each bite. The caramel milkshake had lots of caramel. Large portions. Would have been enough for two meals but it was so delicious I ate it all at once.

My brother and I both got Ocidental Oriental ciabatta sandwich. Containing chicken, peanut satay sauce, mozzarella, red pepper, cucumber, carrot, cilantro, and shredded lettuce. It’s a very big sandwich, a plus on your wallet and your stomach. Flavor wise, just okay. Perhaps their other sandwiches are better. Quality ingredients, price, presentation and service pushed my decision to 4 stars. Strawberry Fields Milkshake was good, but not the best I’ve ever had.
