We went to celebrate our anniversary. The ambiance is nice, and the host will great you at the door and will walk you to your table. They have a huge wine list and cocktail. Food portion is very good, plates are nice and full. The service was amazing. Our server Erick was knowledgeable about every single plate thats on the menu. We ordered the fried oyster they were Okey the sauce was good. But nothing impressive about it. We did also order vension carpaccio it was good. The compressed watermelon salad was phenomenal, I ordered a Roseda farms aged New York strip steak was good my wife ordered the short rib pasta, it isn’t the best. The meat is very tender and the pasta cooked well, but I don’t think they go well together. I have tried this dish at another restaurant and still the same. Desert was very good chocolate cake with burned orange jam, house made cream fresh.

My partner and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Mill Room, and I must say it was an absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. We were blown away by the great dishes, impeccable service, and the warm and inviting ambiance.

Servers were very professional, attentive, and kind. The NY strip with the cream cheese smashed potatoes were excellent! I especially loved their flourless dark chocolate cake! Only bummer was the rice that came with my Korean BBQ quail was undercooked.

Dining here felt like walking into a hug. Warm welcomes from the hosts and waiters, all of the beautiful dining areas, a great menu, and the attentive service set the tone for the evening. We enjoyed a smoked old-fashioned (you HAVE to try it, for the presentation alone) and a honey-thyme margarita. Both were delicious. A poke bowl seemed like an odd offering in this setting, but it was excellent, especially the octopus. Also had the romaine salad (fabulous), fryed oysters (light as feathers), and sweet potato (perfectly cooked). We also indulged with a slice of lemoncello cake. We didn’t want to leave! Fab-u-lous!

Great atmosphere and unique menu and delicious desserts. Service is friendly and not too long a wait on a Friday night. A charlottesville staple – worth checking out if you live here or just visiting

The foods were above average, in portion and taste. The drinks were good. Service was attentive. Beautiful scenery from our table.

I wish I would have remembered our waitress’s name because she was fantastic. I would come back for her alone. Food, ambiance, and location are perfect. The food looks like the images others have posted. If the Spanish waitress with glasses tells to it tastes good…. She isn’t lying. Promise. Parking can be awkward if it’s busy. You may have to walk a little bit to the restaurant. Our food took a while to come out. We had a group of 13. Expect to spend $200 to $300 for 2 if it’s dinner. I had lobster and grits. It was pretty good. Probably a 4 out of five. Salt was a bit much but my taste buds are sensitive to sodium so to each his own.

While the food was lovely, the service was terrible. We made a reservation for 5:45 because we were a large group with 2 children who had school the following morning. It took until 6:15 to get drinks and get our food ordered, then our food didn’t arrive until 7:15, and then when we finished our food it took 35 minutes to get them to bring us checks/boxes. It felt like because they knew they had a guaranteed gratuity they just didn’t try to give good service. It was really disappointing because the atmosphere and the food were lovely. The other thing was that none of the expensive entrees come with sides. I would probably not return and definitely do not recommend for large groups or to take children.

The Mill Room has never recovered from their pre-pandemic big renovation. It was great, but a collapse in service leaves it far below any standard.

We were disappointed with our dinners, and none in our group thought it was worth the price. No one was wowed over the taste of their entrees, and one was too salty for the person. Breakfast was tasty (though too heavy on the hot pepper in the sausage gravy so the diner couldn’t eat it), but it took a long time to come out.
