The food was great the service was good the only reason I am giving 4 stars as oppose to 5 is the server was overwhelmed because of too many people and not enough waiters and waitress. Everything was delicious, the steak has really nice smoke flavor too it and all the dishes were great. The one most outstanding thing was the cup of coffee that there is not a picture of but it was a really really fine cup of coffee.

Very nice retro 1950s style restaurant. They are well know for their steaks and honey fried chicken. Be sure to call a few days ahead for seating. The staff is very friendly and they make the evening fun.

The french onion soup is only $6. The have a hamburger steak with fries:$19, fried chicken with honey and special dipping sauce $18, and a salad around $8. The also have a child’s plate hamburger steak, chicken tenders, fried shrimp. Don’t forget dessert cheesecake available and key lime pie. Closed Sun and Monday open 5:30 to 9:30 Tuesday thru Saturday. Dine in and take out available. Great place friendly staff. ☕

Honestly I love the atmosphere and the bartender but the food is bland and they dont season the steaks at all before cooking, fried shrimp plate not really impressive looking.Everything was hot when it arrived, unfortunately they dont offer sweet tea.I know they have been in buisness like 50 years but if they would preseason the steaks with garlic powder, salt and pepper it would make it a really good dining experience.

This is a cozy, romantic, restaurant with dim lighting. It was perfect to celebrate a promotion at work and our server Allison was so helpful! I didn’t know what to get and she took her time to recommend some amazing food. The food was of the upmost quality and was super hot and fresh when it was brought out. We finished off with dessert and once again, Allison came to the rescue with a great wine pairing. The pictures I took of the food don’t do it justice. You will be treated with the upmost respect and courtesy. I know this restaurant will go to any lengths to make you happy with your meal because they did it for me! I will definitely be going back.

Getting in our last visits at the best steakhouse in Greenville. So sad they will be closing at the end of this month. Greenville, show them some love these final weeks before they close.

From the moment we were greeted by the owners (with a wonderful sense of humor) to our final farewell as we were going out the door, everything was just simply amazing. We loved our waitress, Katie, she is so friendly and bubbly, again great sense of humor. Now to get down to what you really want to know…yes the food is phenomenal, absolutely drool worthy. We both chose the Kansas City steaks and had no regrets. Let me tell you something..you NEED their sweet potato in your life, prepared perfectly and you get to add your toppings to your own personal taste. Kudos Open Hearth for a wonderful night of perfection. You are absolutely positively worth all 5 and the hour drive. We can’t wait to come back!

Nice atmosphere, great family owned restaurant that made a small office dinner very enjoyable. Appetizers of calamari and bacon wrapped scallops that I tried were both very good. For main course I ordered a bone in rib eye that I will go back again for a special occasion and was prepared well. I would recommend if you wanted a bit of an upscale menu with also the usual entrees for just about any craving for a bit of a splurge night out with friends or for a nice date. I enjoyed my experience and my dinner.

I have been to the Open Hearth several times and always enjoyed my meal. Not the case tonight. There were several issues. To begin with, the Italian dressing was flavorless and we had to request another type. When my meal came out, the steak and the baked potato were undercooked. I sent the steak back to be cooked a bit more, didn’t bother about the potato. My companion had steak also. It was so bland. We waved the owner over and told him how underwhelmed we were with the meal. He got huffy, said they don’t season the steak(maybe they should) and had been in business 62 years. . He took our dishes and left without telling us what he was doing. We sat there several minutes and then the server came and apologized and took the meals off our bill (still charged for the tea). Our server did a great job . Although the meal was sub par, that wasn’t the main issue. The attitude of the owner was the reason we will not be returning.
