Went here for a date and honestly it didn’t disappoint. Highly worth it. We had fresh oysters, the gumbo (not pictured though super well flavored) we had the chicken with prune, scallops, broccolini, fairy salad. Plus the drinks we had were well made! I personally don’t drink and the waiter Jordan accommodated for me and I really appreciated that. Had a few mocktails. So nice of him. Recommend Jordan

Cool restaurant with a fish house vibe. We enjoyed our time here. Octopus and shrimp a la plancha appetizers were very flavorful and prepared well. We thought that the main courses of halibut and whole flounder, while well-prepared, were somewhat bland/under-seasoned. Hush puppies and field peas were great! Coconut pie and chocolate cake were also really good .

Made an early dinner reservation for dinner on Sunday while visiting town. The service was fantastic and food was phenomenal. They do have up stairs bar which is only open Thurs-Sat I believe. It was closed when we were there for Sunday evening. I would love to be back just to check out their bar and also to try different dishes.

I recently visited The Optimist, a seafood restaurant in Nashville, and I have to say that it did not disappoint. The seafood was truly exceptional, with every dish prepared to perfection and bursting with flavor.

When you get seated and you’re greeted by a strong wiff of an outdoor fish market where a fish monger ran out of ice… should’ve walked back out. I think it’s totally inexcusable for a seafood restaurant … Maybe it was a bad day? Not worth it.

The variety of oysters are flavorful. I love the smoked fish dip, although I am not a fan of saltine crackers. No meal is complete without ordering the Gulf Shrimp A La Pancha as an appetizer or as a meal. The staff provides great service.

I wanted to love this place but unfortunately it did not deliver the same value as the Atlanta location. I came with a friend on a visit to Nashville. I loved the one in Atlanta and wanted her to experience the food. I had high hopes coming in. A lot of the menu options were similar. I ordered a combination of small and large plates. I remembered the hush puppies in ATL being a highlight. They were fresh, soft, hot. Here, that was not the case at all. They were shriveled up, dry, and cold. They’re served with butter…if the butter can’t melt on them, something is wrong. I ordered the swordfish as my main. I don’t eat meat so I asked for it without the beef and with a different sauce. I was confused when a (maybe 4oz) piece of swordfish came out on a plate solo drowning in sauce. The fish was supposed to come over mashed potatoes. The kitchen forgot. Not a huge deal, they brought it out later. I just didn’t understand why I was paying $40 for such a tiny piece of fish. I dine out often and don’t mind paying a decent amount for a good meal but I just couldn’t find the value in this at all. In both entrees, the fish was cooked perfectly. The sauces had a lot of flavor. My friend was not a fan of the Thai sauce and ended up swapping entrees with me. Our server was nice and good with suggestions. The service overall was slow. I’m not sure if this was because the kitchen was backed up or what but it wasn’t insanely busy. We were there for almost 3 hrs, not by choice. The experience overall was not bad but not great and I honestly probably would not return to this location.

Love this place! The scallops are my personal favorite but they do change up their menu frequently. Good drinks too! Staff is always very knowledgeable and professional
