I was impressed the first time I tried this place, and I’m still impressed after multiple visits. It’s not necessarily “cheap” Chinese takeout like you can order from some of these other strip mall places, but it also doesn’t taste like cheap Chinese takeout. Under $40 for a couple is well worth it for the quality!

Very authentic place. Bought family dinner with two other bros and it was so much food. Hunan Pork, sweet and sour chicken, szechuan beef, they were all excellent. Wonderful small hole on the wall place. Will be back for sure.

The restaurant is tasty, but overpriced for the amount of food they give and quality. Also, they charged $.50 cent extra for fried rice. There is no veggies or pork in it. All they do is add soy sauce to the Steam white rice. I could of done that myself!!! They used to be okay, but they have cut back on portions, giving you less for more money.

The Orient is a delightful little Chinese restaurant In the Montclair Shopping Center in Edwardsville on Troy Rd. It’s clean, their food is delicious and the service is great! Fen is their main server throughout each day and she is very sweet and aims to please. They have an excellent menu and the food is always served hot. Their Lunch Specials come with a choice of 3 different oriental soups, the main dish is served with white or fried rice, and you get a choice of 2 Crab Rangoons or 1 Egg Roll. Or you can order what ever you like on the menu! I’ve been going there for decades and have never been disappointed! FYI, They are closed on Tuesday.

Ordered here for some co workers and picked up. Unsure what happened we Ordered 7 lunch specials only received 6. Called but, lady who answered said we did not order the 7th one, but we received the extra eggroll requested with it. It was exactly the same as another, but we got that order and the extra roll with it. Prices online must be incorrect. What I thought were affordable lunch specials since 4 of the items were listed as 4.95 and the 2 orange chicken were 7.95 , not sure what the additional was, sweet and sour chicken I think, but total came to 60 dollars.
