Soul food that tastes like your momma and grandma cooked it. Shout out to Anthony who fixed our plate of cornbread dressing and to Oliver the cashier. She made sure we had everything we needed before leaving. If ever in this area stop by, you won’t be disappointed.

Here again at Big Daddy’s With out of state guests, Lt was a Sunday and some of the food received by my family wasn’t good, hot, nor acceptable. It was near closing , yet we were reassured that we could sit & dine in. Our guests opted to do so. We had chicken wings, pork chop plate, bar b que spice wings, our sides were white rice, yellow rice, squash, cornbread,spinach casserole, turkey wings, pot roast with potatoes, fried chicken, dressing, shrimp casserole,yams, and etc l don’t have pics of all the food just what was eaten @ at our small table. We didn’t want to upset our guests so we ate small portions and stated we were full and walked away from the majority of food with some bags for what was left. I am simply astonished that this service happens every time l take guests there who want this The Original Big Daddy Experience. Better Luck next time l guess

They had such a variety of food. It was hard to choose, which means I’ll have to go back to make a different selection. The food was delicious and PLENTIFUL, the staff was great. Nothing was wrong about this restaurant, the atmosphere. The staff was everything. It was my first time going there. A hidden food gem on Old National.

Food was really good! That day the a.c wasn’t on but I love the soul food, African American feel of the restaurant. Servers were polite and funny and the owner is a butcher so the meat is fresh ! Catfish was seasoned to perfection and I can’t wait to be back!

It should be against the law to get as much food as they give you here! The huge variety of options is impressive and it’s all cooked to perfection. Vegetables are all prepared without PORK so that is a bonus!!!! The desserts and drinks will have you contemplating life. You may want to get an extra plate to go. One meat and two sides run about $25 and worth every bite! Even if you encounter a long line I assure you it’s worth the wait!!!

Today was really a disappointment when I visited the restaurant. I have visited this restaurant and bought food on many of occasions. Today was the first day that I took my daughter she was very dissatisfied and I was disappointed. I suggested that she got a short beef rib plate because they’re known for giving generous amounts however on today that was not the case. She paid $30 for two pieces of short ribs, yellow rice ,mac & cheese, and canned string beans. I couldn’t believe the price. The man who served the plate had an extra rib on there but he took it off while we weren’t looking so when the tray was opened at the register I was a little shocked about the price. My daughter had a look of disbelief and was upset but she gave me a look as she didn’t want to say anything that would be taken as rude, offensive or ghetto as they like to say when you disagree with service when you’re black. However I did insist that we do a review to find out if someone else received the same service or better service. In this case the cost of the food quality and quantity matters. I received more ribs previously on a visit myself. This meal did not include a drink. I even asked the cashier if you only get two ribs for almost $30 she said the rib dinner is $26.99 held her head down and walked away. It was definitely a learning experience and now I know just to ask more questions before I get to the end of the line.

I ordered Rib Tips, yams & Mac-N-Cheese. The Mac-N-Cheese was not good, they have the Caucasian version. No flavor at all! I like mine with egg and milk. The yams were Delicious! Best thing on the plate. Rib tips were inconsistent, some were good and tender and some were tough. My hubby got the Salisbury Steak, yams & Black eyes peas. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes, They are really good. Steak was average, Black eyepeas needed some season. I would go back to try other things. They have several options.

This place is ALWAYS so packed. I went at the perfect time, my wife and I were the only two people in line. EVERYONE in that building greeted us. (It was our first time and they could tell lol) we were struck by all of the OPTIONS we had! Everything looked so good and fresh! We got lunch specials one chicken breast and one jerk turkey wing special!

Everyone has a place they go to where they KNOW the service is great and the food is amazing! THIS IS MY PLACE! clearly I get 2 plates at a time (I live quite a ways). I have my favorites that are always a hit but you can never go wrong trying something new.
