I saw that Hick’ry Pit Restaurant the last time I was in Walnut Creek and made myself a promise to stop the next time I was in town, today’s the day! I dropped old lady Peta off at the Alfalfa Sprout factory so she could get herself realigned with her inner self because she inadvertently took a bite of rhubarb pie that had butter in its crust….oh the shame!

Ordered the New York steak loaded bake potatoe & salad. The first steak came out very cold in the center, had to send it back. Felt like they literally took it from the fridge and put it on the plate. The 2nd steak was cooked like it was supposed to, med rare. It had a great taste to it. The old fashioned was shaken with ice because it had a very weak/water down taste to it, tasted like it was made with rye. Salad was very fresh, staff friendly very upbeat people. Must be a Cali thing because every place I go to I literally have to walk them through how to make a med rare, seem they only know how to do prime ribs out here .
