Nice, quiet breakfast place in downtown Spearfish. Dishes ranging in price $15-18 per plate. Portions were pretty decent. Black coffee is almost $4. Short staffed the day we stopped, but service was still good. Overall, I would recommend trying this restaurant.

I happened across this place when I was staying in Spearfish for the weekend. It was so good, I had to go each morning I was in town. I had the Eggs Benedict and it was the best breakfast I have ever had. The lemon filled blueberry muffins I took to go were still fresh and amazing two days later. The service is incredible. The cook even came out to ask what I thought. I can’t recommend this place enough.

A wonderful place with incredible food and very kind staff. The food was out of this world. The sweet cream pancakes were both sweet and creamy, flaky, hot, crispy and soft, a masterclass in pancakes. The chorizo omelette was bold, packed with flavors blending and complementing. Perfectly ripe avocado. The portions were great, just barely too big for us to finish. The daily specials all looked incredible; we tried the huckleberry tea and fell in love with it. The hash browns were buttery and crispy and delicious. And the bacon!!! Thick and crispy on the outside but still perfectly chewable. I don’t know how someone can be this good at cooking this many things. I can’t even imagine how good the rest of the menu is. I have to come back.

Excellent local breakfast diner. Welcoming and clean atmosphere. The service was friendly, quick and attentive. I had the bacon avacado benedict, which was delicious. The bathrooms were clean. I will be back.

I almost don’t want to tell you how absolutely delicious the food is at TOSB. I want to be able to get a seat next time.. lol. It’s earned 1st place standing for local breakfast in my book. I have nothing remotely bad to say. This morning we met our daily coffee club friends there. 3 had biscuits, gravy, 2 eggs & hashbrowns. 1 had the 1/2 lb chicken fried steak, 2 eggs, hashbrowns & toast. I had the western omelet, fried potatoes & toast. Highly recommend the fried potatoes. Everything was just like you made it at home. I consider myself an amazing home cook & this place highly impressed me. We already suggested meeting every week for breakfast. Service was stellar. Chef even came out to say hi. You won’t be disappointed.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon to go and it was ready as soon as I got there. The staff was extremely friendly and the presentation was beautiful. On top of that the food was absolutely delicious! I will be going back many times to enjoy this place with my family!

If you are planning a trip to historic Main Street in the heart of the Queen City, and wish to experience Spearfish at it’s absolute finest… PLEASE take time for Breakfast or lunch at The Original Spearfish Breakfast House. Bob and Laurie, and Chris and the team are exceptional. When you leave you will know what good food, good service, and good atmosphere you were served – You will NOT be disappointed! The, BEST that Spearfish has to offer in every way.
