It has an unassuming location, an old gas station. The inside is still half a convenient store; beer and cigarettes and gum and such for sale. The food, however, is top notch. We stopped by on a road trip the sweet tea is on point and like ambrosia to a deprived northerner. The burgers are delicious diner-style complete with butter toasted buns and the Philly cheese was delicious also. Regional sides like fried pickles and corn nuggets were very satisfying. The chicken sandwich seemed like they took chicken breast, pounded it and breaded before frying. It was everything you could ask for flavor-wise in a funky and ultimately charming local package. Friendly guests offered conversation and anecdotes to road weary self and they seemed to enjoy their breakfast dishes they ordered. I would absolutely stop by again. Dine in or get it to go– you will be satisfied. (I just cut the sandwiches in half myself, but I didn’t ask them to. I am sure they would if you wanted.)

On our way home from Dauphin, Island and found this place on Google Maps. Straight up the place is kind of a dive but the food was amazing! I ordered the chicken wrap and onion rings with ice tea. It was all delicious! Trust me, stop in, you will not be disappointed in the food!

I ordered a turkey wrap, no turkey, and the guy in the kitchen told her to add $2 to my meal because I’m not getting meat. I get back to my hotel and I have the sandwich, my appetizer, but my side is missing. I drive back down there and the guy ignores me. The lady made my side. The fried pickles are way too salty. The wrap tastes horrible and it’s oddly warm. All this for $15 and not even a drink?

Do not judge the building, food is really good and reasonably priced. We were passing through and was very pleased.

The owls nest is one of my favorite places to grab a delicious chicken salad, shrimp, or cheese burger. I pretty much get the same thing all the time. The owls nest never disappoints. I really want to try the all day breakfast menu. Today I ate in for the first time. Customer service was A+!

We were greeted by a waitress who was hands down the best server I think we’ve ever had. So friendly and thoughtful! Food was also so good everything felt like it was made at home. (Mississippi folk here!)

Such a heartwarming experience!!! McGehee Arkansas has a Family owned Restaurant called The Owl Nest. Spring told us to have a seat where ever, brought us menus and even offered us breakfast because it is served all day. She also let us know about the new cheese curds. On the table we found “Fancy Ketchup”, salt shaker, metal tin of black Pepper, yellow mustard, and a giant basket with an impressive selection of sweet and sour sauces from 3 different brands, picante, honey mustard, butter, and cocktail sauce.

Just passing through and ordered catfish to go. The catfish special was $8.99 and tasted great! Hard to find such a good value these days… The fried okra and onion rings were good as well!
