For someone not staying at the hotel the restaurant is connected to its a little confusing finding entrance, got help from a guest. Outside so definitely check the weather. Nice service. Pricey drinks but you get what you pay for strong tasty drink. Didnt try much on the small food menu but what I did eat was good and flavorful!

This is a nice location and place to hang out. I really like the retro pool vibe. The music can be good – it’s a mix but I do enjoy a live DJ. The drinks are the major downside for me. Weak and overpriced and takes forever to order when it is at all busy.

Has a great retro feel of an old time motel pool bar. Durham has some unique hotels in the downtown, this being one of them. With the pool and band stage, there are limited tables on busy nights. But the band & drink special made for a night of fun. It had a menu but we had other dinner plans.

This was our first time to the Patio at Unscripted for after dinner drinks with friends and it was amazing. The views were spectacular especially the sunset. The vibe is chill pool party with some people in swimsuits while others were in casual street wear. The drinks were strong and delicious. Definitely try the Frosé. It’s a sweet frozen concoction of rosé, simple syrup, and three liquors. We didn’t try the food but next time we are doing a brunch there. There’s also Drag Brunch. Yes. Please.

Visited with a large group of people this evening after a Durham Bulls game. Some of us were hotel guests and some were locals. We got to the pool bar at 10pm and the hostess was still at the stand so I told her that we had a large group and she said they had no seats available and the kitchen is closed, but we were free to get a drink at the bar and stand around until 11pm, which was fine. Except the pool area was literally only 1/3 full with plenty of empty seats, we got asked to move because we were blocking the bar staff walk-up, and then the bar tender was extremely rude and took our orders, but said they were closing. So to sum it up, the atmosphere is okay, but don’t bother if it’s remotely close to closing time.

Although my waiter Jacoby was great, the fact that you replaced a DJ with a sub standard boring band is confusing. Are you intentionally trying to turn people away? I invited a group to visit and we left after the second song. You should be ashamed of yourself Patio. It’s obvious that you are attempting to exclude a certain type of crowd. Congratulations, you have achieved excluding people who will be alive in 10 years and spend money.

We spent a very enjoyable afternoon at the pool. Food and service was superb. I was a bit taken back by some of the other guests open affection with their partners. There were some children in the pool and I was appalled that the staff didn’t say anything to them. It was rather awkward for us.

My friend made reservations for this spot about a month in advance but it was well worth the wait. The staff was superb, the view was awesome, & our food was delicious. We were able to see the sun set from our igloo which included a Bluetooth speaker, clean & comfy sofas, & small heater. My friend made our next reservation while we were eating & we plan to take other friends next time. I highly recommend the short ribs! Shoutout to our kind, attentive waiter Jamie & awesome hostess Tamryn (I’m sure I butchered that); yall were awesome.

I went on a double date to the igloos at the Patio and I was double charged for my meal that night. I have tried several times to contact the restaurant and hotel accounting to fix this issue leaving messages every time. No one has called me back. I am extremely unsatisfied and the other couple I dined with also were charged twice, so how many times has this happened and people didn’t realize they were double charged? Absolutely unacceptable.
