I gave 4 stars 4 years ago. My recent visit was lackluster. The food and staff were great. The cleanliness of the restrooms is definitely in question. The windows all around the dining area were dirty. It is the type of dirty that creeps up from slow accumulation, which is not necessarily the fault of the staff. Management/owner needs to step up! I hope the kitchen isn’t suffering from the same inattention.

A great, no-frills, diner! Visited around 7:30AM on a Saturday morning. Was able to be seated with no issues and the waitress quickly brought menus and hot coffee. Wide selection items are available on the menu for both breakfast and lunch. Overall, food was good, service was great, and atmosphere was nice. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice breakfast spot in downtown Rockford.

My waitress said we could have an extra minute to order but after sitting for more than 10 minutes I had to go get up and tell them to take my order. I also ordered a hamburger and then my waitress asked if I wanted chips, onion rings, or fries. When I went to pay I realized they had snuck an extra 2 dollar fee in without telling me and when I confronted them, they said the fries cost extra money which was never specified.

I love the peppermill don’t get me wrong, but today was really bad. We went in and were sta promptly and got our order in right away. It took awhile for our food, but no big deal. However, my daughters eggs and bacon were extremely overcooked and I was missing an egg from my breakfast. I am sure it would have been fine and was easy to fix, but our server never came back to our table to check. She dropped off our food and we never spoke to her again.

Very noisy ! Customers that came after were served first we waited a bit. American fries were mush. The pancake had to be cut with a knife very rubbery. Very nice waitress… prices reasonable…

My breakfast of 2 eggs, potatoes, ham, and 1 pancake was superb. I would have given 5 stars, but their door was left open to allow food supplies to be taken into the restaurant. I was frozen throught the meal.
