We made a trip to Wadena and fell upon this place by accident. We were pleasantly surprised at this roadside gem! Portions were plenty, price was right, and food was great! Servers were friendly and accommodating. The gas station connected to the restaurant had good prices, including the gas. Very clean restrooms

So I am a local. I spend tons of money between wadena, verndale and staples, and we use to goto Ted and Gens when it was open. I have never been to a restaurant with this poor of service. I have dined inside and have done take out several times. I have had so many issues. Orders wrong. Over charged. 45 min wait times for food. Waiting over 30 mins to place orders for To Go orders. I have waited over a hour for ordering and food about 10 times. Today I just walked out waiting to place a to go order. Called in put on hold then Wait at front door to place order. Kept being told be right with you. Only 5 ppl in restaurant..Waited Over 30 mins never got waited on. I have ordered pizza late at night and had to wait because they burnt 2 pizzas back to back. Recently we went to 3 meat buffet had to wait 45 mins for ribs to come on buffet line. Once they were on line i could tell they where microwaved. But a table next to us got 6 orders of ribs placed on their table literally 5 mins after I asked for staff to let me know when more will be out. Remind you this was half way during buffet time like 7pm. So not end of the day. I Wanted to stop in get quick bite then back to work There was no menu that day so the table got special privilege to get ribs at discounted price (buffet price vs menu price) and got to take them home. I have gave this place so many tries and my kid go to school with the familys that own this and we tried to spend money in local area but can’t do it anymore. WE HAD one waitress we loved who worked there after Ted and gens closed. She always went up and above for us. So it’s staffing and management issue. Foods good once you get it. Tried to talk to manager by email, facebook and over the phone. Cant get a response.

I went to this place on the recommendation of a friend and I really enjoyed it, they have a buffet service which I tried and everything was great, chicken, meat, ham, ribs, mashed potatoes and different pastas, delicious salads and very fresh, everything was top quality and fresh, the attention was very warm and friendly, at all times we were well and quickly attended For two beautiful ladies who always had a friendly and smiling image for us, I will definitely come back and now I will try the dishes on the menu, they look great and I would not like to miss the opportunity to enjoy them

The bartender didn’t know how to make a Tom Collins both times were not on par. The place was busy will have to admit but was very short on staff considering it was a Friday night the buffet not bad it was later in the evening arout 9pm

Went last night with friends for super the salad bar was choices about 1/3 empty not being refilled. So couldn’t get much from that. And I had the Ribs the sauce was so peppery had to scrape off the ribs then were ok. Wife had the shrimp absolutely no flavor and the butter sauce was butter flavored fry oil and they put the same in the mashed potatoes. Would we eat their again??? Probably not !!!! And a little upkeep on cleaning up around the salad bar area would’ve been better!!!!

My group and I had a tdy out in camp ripley we were on our way back to home base when we got hungry. Pulled over to a very spacious parking lot for our 2 trailers. Went inside we were greeted warmly by the staff we were recommended either the all you can eat or the walleye po boy, most of us went for the walleye and that was hands down amazing. Great service amazing food. Only down side I could say is the food sure did take a min but we were willing to wait. I’ll definitely recommend this place for any future tdy trips for other airmen going to camp ripley.
