The Special for brunch is a pancake with sausage and two over easy eggs. The sausage is crumbled and put into the pancake batter, but all in one clump and not evenly spread throughout. The sausage was also raw inside and burnt on the outside, so they did not defrost their sausage before cooking it. We noticed because the sausage was really hard on the outside, and luckily saw the raw pinkish red part that we bit into. We showed the waitress, who said their sausage is pink. I don’t think sausage should be pink, since when it’s cooked it will turn brown. Even beef sausage should be brown when cooked. The Hash is roasted vegetables with grits and house bacon. Unfortunately, the house bacon does not come in strips and mine came with one piece of crumble about a centimeter long by two millimeters wide. While the manager eventually took off the raw sausage plate from our bill, I can’t say this establishment has good food quality control. Even if everything was cooked correctly, I don’t think the food is as good as other brunch spots in the city. There was a lot of parking and not a lot of people, maybe because of better options in Knoxville.

So this is my first impression of this place And I have to say that I am not impressed I got the smashburger which looks really yummy and a reasonable size and I also got a beet salad that is $10 and has maybe half a beat in it and is really actually honestly pretty pathetic it tastes okay but for 10 bucks I would expect a bit more food. Definitely underwhelmed!

EXCELLENT brunch. My friend even commented “this might be the best brunch I’ve ever had.” I got the cinnamon roll, sausage/bacon/grits and steak and eggs and he got the apple bread and tartine. All of it was excellent and it was the perfect mix of being light and filling that despite eating all that, I didn’t feel like a slob after. We walked in and sat at the bar, but for table seating at brunch a reservation is required. The staff was very nice as well, there was a brand new bartender who did a nice job and the experienced one was around and helped as needed. They said they source as many ingredients as possible from the immediate Knoxville area, so a good way to support local.

The food was good. The service was attentive but not intrusive. My husband ordered The Hash. He liked it a lot. The serving was plenty. I had Eggs Benedict without the English muffins with house bacon on the side. Perfect poached eggs. Good hollandaise. My only complaint is that I like my bacon crispier, but I should have specified that when I ordered. We were too full to eat a cinnamon roll there, but we took one home. It was huge! The frosting was very cream cheese forward, and not too sweet. Perfect. The pistachio topping added a good crunch. The roll itself was fluffy and yummy. My husband was very happy with it. I only took one bite, but I came away wanting more cinnamon. I didn’t get another bite, , so I don’t know if there was more further in. Next time I’ll take my one bite out of the middle!

They should consider a new hostess but their GM was kind and respectful. Steak & eggs with a morning mojito is a meal I’d repeat even with its higher than average price. Skip the cinnamon bun. Eggs Benedict was unappealing as well. Read good things about this establishment for brunch but all in all the experience was a let down.

Beautiful food, good coffee, great environment. Breakfast and brunch are best. I was taken aback by the singular chicken thigh I received for my dinner order, with a lot of empty space on the plate, but it was maybe the best chicken thigh I’ve ever had. Wonderful

Plaid Apron is one of our favorite places!! % recommend this place for their brunch on Saturday and Sunday every time. Today they out did themselves with customer service and food preparation! My mother suffers from heart failure and needs heart healthy food. They prepared her the perfect meal that was both gluten-free and low salt. She is happy and she’s picky! And when momma’s happy, everyone is happy! Thank you to our awesome waitress, Connor!

Excellent food and service. We had the good fortunate of being served by Nick the bartender who made an excellent pitcher of mimosas served in Mason jar. I had the hash bowl which I would highly recommend.
