To start off the atmosphere is very refreshing and upbeat. It also is very clean. I got the soft shell crab to start with and it was a great portion on top of being delicious. I also got the 3 fish sushi tacos and let me tell you, I am a sushi connoisseur and they were delightful. The tortillas were the perfect thinness and the flavors popped in the tacos. It was honestly everything I could want or except in a raw taco. Owner was very nice and enjoyed our conversation. I totally recommend this place!

When you live in Castleton you get excited when anything opens in town. But The Poke Jar caused next level excitement. Everything I’ve had so far has been excellent and beautiful. Plus it’s a really friendly place. I look forward to working my way through the whole menu!

We just moved to the area and were super excited to try this place. It exceeded our expectations. Food was fresh, unique and flavorful. Service was excellent and the atmosphere is comfortable. We ordered way more food than we should have, but everything was so tasty, we couldn’t help ourselves. Pricing is more than reasonable given the quality, quantity and uniqueness of the food. Looking forward to trying more items from the menu next week.

The food is exceptional. Delicious bao buns and tacos. The Sando is so good! Expertly balanced flavors. Very memorable foodie experience. We were heading to Philadelphia and willingly took a half-hour detour just to try this restaurant and would do it again. Highly recommend!!

Hard to believe maybe but Castleton-On-Hudson — right there on my favorite road 9J — is home to the most satisfying Japanese-driven food in the Capital District and its environs. Owner Mike presents his mother’s culinary masterworks with style, and the room supports that with vibe of cool retro diner — where you can get the best sushi I have tasted this side of GB’s Bizen. Those retro red-leather booths signal that the menu is super-eclectic — my grandkids attacked beautiful chicken wings flanked by smooth golden chicken tenders and fries. Message: something for everyone, all of it cooked to perfection. Pro tip to Ramen lovers, look no further.

Second time I have ordered from this restaurant. First time it was only for a order of pork buns and some Mochi both delicious. The pork buns while a little small (so good wish they were bigger lol) are so damn delicious I would gladly pay double for them. Second time I ordered spring rolls and they were crunchy and really tasty and then I ordered the pork belly ramen and being extremely picky about my ramen I was hesitant for fear of not liking it. So glad I did it’s the BEST ramen I have ever had!! I ordered it with marinated egg and I’m in heaven. This place is amazing I’m so glad I live close by so I can come as much as I want which will be often! If your in the neighborhood do your self a favor and go eat there!

We were looking for a new place to eat…stumbled upon this peek a boo type of place. For its location, you wouldn’t expect it to be bright and open- so easy on the eyes Food was freshly prepared and hot, lots mango bits were used ( at least in what we ordered). Very good size portions for the prices, and our drinks were served in nice sized Mason jars. Presentation on the plates for the sushi… just over all…awesome.
