We’ve been coming here since I went to school at Murray State University back in the late 80s and early 90s. It used to be called Sue and Charlie’s back then. Over the years it’s been called Willow Pond and now finally The Pond. The one thing that has not changed is the quality of the food and great service. Their fried catfish filets are incredible. I also love their hushpuppies, onion rings and fried pickle chips. Inside still looks the same over all the years, but it’s always been an enjoyable place to eat for our entire family. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

Best fried catfish ever! Seasoning was light and fish was so good. All you could eat hush puppies were perfection! More of a sweet cornbread experience and boy did they pair well with the dried beans. Baked potato was great too. The staff was exceptional and handled big tables with ease. As an old waitress, I was impressed!

We eat here at least weekly in the summer months. Recommend the fish, anyway you like it. Hubby likes fried, I usually get grilled. Never a bad meal. Their chopped steak is very good, and hubby says they have the best frog legs he’s ever eaten. You have to try their red pepper relish! It’s amazing.

Excellent food and service here! I enjoyed everything I had, as well as everyone I was dining with. The hush puppies are the best I’ve ever had, and you can’t go wrong with them being endless, along with the white beans. Our service was great too, with Emma as our server. Fried & grilled catfish is perfectly cooked every time I’ve ever been. A bowl of white beans, the best hush puppies EVER and coleslaw ( vinegar or mayo based) comes with every meal. Great service from a great staff every time. They’re great!

I hate to do this, but I feel it is warranted to long time patrons. Always enjoyed eating at the pond, but I’m afraid they have priced us out of being regulars. Prices have increased, pretty dramatically, with some plates as much as $6 more than they were three months ago. Scallops were watery, grilled shrimp severely overcooked. White beans were too peppery, and had to ask for the sweet relish. Plus, there’s a 3.75% charge on top of the final bill for using a card. I would like to try it again to see if it was a fluke night, but I really don’t think we could afford it. I would put $10 with what our bill was tonight and go to Patti’s.

Absolutely great fried catfish! My favorite in Western Kentucky! And, Western Kentucky is known for its fried catfish! Their hush puppies are great, and their white beans are great too! Plus, they have pretty good deserts such as chocolate pie and blackberrie cobbler.

Excellent food and excellent service! I got the two piece cod dinner with fries and slaw. I also got fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. Plus, you get all-you-can-eat hush puppies and white beans! Everything was perfect and delicious! Too bad it’s over 150 miles away from my home…
