The husband-wife team of John and Laura Wolfe have run restaurants from a distance on both coasts, and now they have opened one in their hometown.
The menu has been created by Chefs Peter Hansen & Andrew Swanson. Peter has appeared on six episodes of Iron Chef with Bobby Flay, and has worked in New York with noted Chef Michael White. Andrew worked at the respected One Hundred Club in Portsmouth.
The Poynt’s warm, colorful interior offers bar stools, streetside booths and a central dining room as well as two private dining rooms, one of which offers views of the river. The airy 5,000-square-foot venue features an open kitchen and a cadre of pleasant wait staff.

They have a beautiful dining room and also a bar with high chairs if you prefer that. The menu is pretty varied and is a mix of small shareable plates and pizzas and entrees. They also have a number of options for salads as well. Although we didn’t order a drink this time,th e cocktail menu is also very interesting. The burger and fries were pretty substantial and really delicious.

We ordered two starters, the Calamari and the meatballs. I’ll say the Calamari was the best I’ve had in a long time. The meatballs, I didn’t enjoy them, but the two others in my party did. I would definitely recommend the Calamari.

Okay absolutely no view of the river from this restaurant. Raven was our server and she was fantastic and the best part of this experience. As for the food, too pricey and not that good, was expecting alot from other reviews especially for the beef dumpling appetizer, slightly greasy and over cooked. The beverages where clever, and so are other restaurants. Dessert was delicious, go for the donuts. Parking was a breeze.

We had a birthday brunch in the Wolfs Den and the room is just perfect for a small gathering. The food was really good and I can’t wait to return to try the breakfast pizza! Most of our party had the short rib tacos or the fish tacos, which were both good, but the steak and eggs were fabulous. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff! We will return.

The Poynt in NBPT is amazing from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks fantastic, our server Janna, phenomenal. Definitely stop in and check this place out if you’re in the area. We can’t wait to come back already.

We reserved the Wolfe’s Den for a family celebratory dinner. We have 7 kids in our family between the ages of 1-4 making it near impossible to go out to a restaurant. In fact, this was the first time we ever have. This room was fantastic. A private dining experience where we could let the kids be kids without interrupting any other diners. Our waitress Janna was absolutely amazing! She was so kind to us, I know it couldn’t have been easy. Food and drinks were great but it’s definitely the service that stood out! Thank you for allowing us to eat out together as a family, the room was perfect!

Food was excellent. The NYE 24 Oz ribeye was colossal. A bit rare for medium but still delicious and tender. The drinks for the most part were on Poynt except for one wet martini that had to be redone. The service left a bit to be desired many times we were looking for our waitress when it was not all that busy and she didn’t have the warmest attitude. Still we had fun and will be back

Went last week for Sunday brunch with some girlfriends. Got there early but wanted to have a latte before hand. Was sat and not greeted for over 20 minutes. Was disappointed they had no nondairy milk options but no big deal just got black coffee. The most disappointing part was the food. I got this delicious looking eggs Benedict’s with corn beef hash and the meat was so chewy I could not eat it. The brunch menu is also very limited in my opinion.
