Very nice restaurant with and old school feel. Men are expected to wear a sport coat so plan ahead but know that they offer some at the coat check if you do not have one to wear. The food was very good but I’ve had better steaks at other restaurants who don’t have the reputation this place has. The sides and desserts were thoroughly enjoyed though and the piano playing set the mood for a romantic dinner. Service at our table was not as good as the neighboring tables, which was disappointing. Seems as if our server was not as interested in providing us with exceptional service as he was with some regulars nearby. Not sure if we’d return but overall the experience was good.

When we arrived Larry greeted us with the knowledge of who we were and the reservation we requested. A true professional. He then escorted us to our table. Based on my reservations notes he saved this table for us all night. It was exactly what my wife and I were looking for.

Special occasion destination restaurant fires on almost every cylinder. The only letdown was that our meal was good but not “must return” memorable. Here’s the deal, I don’t eat prime rib (PR) very often but when I do I remember it. I’ve visited a famous San Francisco PR restaurant over 30 times over 40 years because the PR is usually spectacular. The PR here is good, but mine was a bit dry. And that just does not cut it for the sky high prices here. The appetizers and salads were all good, and the desserts were fine. The dining room is classically beautiful, and the service was top notch as expected. But again, the food was good but not at those prices. I would not return to the Prime Rib

This place is amazing! This was the first time my wife and I have went here. It was truly a memorable fine dining experience, for our anniversary. The ambiance of the restaurant was classy and comfortable. Plus the touch of having a piano and piano player, playing music throughout the evening was nice. Our server, Roberto, was excellent! Then there is the food; amazing! Literally, every item we ordered was prepared perfectly, and they had a nice wine menu. To top things off they have us an delicious creme brulee to share for our anniversary. We both agree that it was a great experience and we will definitely return.

Let’s start out with my arrival at this so so called top rated restaurant for steaks and prime-rib. It’s nothing less then a more glorified apple bees. I have been waiting too write this review and have done a lot of thinking. And I really had to let people know. My arrival is a generic sign that says $7.00 for parking which is tacky at that. Well I had too do it the street there is pretty much full. The valet guy was Verynice. As I walked in an older man approaches me kinda distraught and jittery. He asks my name and proceeds too seat me at my table. I let him know that some others were arriving in my group for dinner. I also seen him walking up to tables talking to guests kinda like leaning over there tables which is not professional at all. Let people eat there dinner it’s not an amusement park! I can comment for a supposedly high end restuarant the dress code of the waiters and host looks kinda lame! As my others arrived too my table all was ok. Then we placed our drink order and food order. The waiter was nice but constantly raising his voice in a different language across the way too another waiter. This went off and on the whole time of our dinner. Which was annoying. I could see the table across from us was also not digging it. We got our drinks and appetizers. The drinks were amazing from the bar. The appetizers were mediocre along with our dinner that arrived. The dinner was just ok. Waiter was mediocre at best. Was more interested when it was time for us to pay. That’s about it. And for the record remind them about the bread. They bring you bread and forget the butter. When I was leaving there were some other patrons outside complaining as well about the waiter and host seating them. About the unprofessionalism. The Prime Rib is a real disappointment too me and my friends stay clear of this ripp off place.

The Prime Rib has been a favorite DC restaurant of ours since first going well over 10 years ago. In all that time the Prime Rib has never disappointed. From the same cooked to perfection steak offerings, excellent ambience, and impecable service; the Prime Rib is truly a DC gem. Going here is a time capsule where people still dress up to dine, conversations are done in normal voices, and customers are treated to live piano music at just the right volume. We look forward to dining at the Prime Rib for many years to come. Chapeau!

The only restaurant I go to for roast prime rib whenever I am craving for it, always cook to perfection. Lovely ambiance with live Jazz music on the weekends and excellent service as always!
