I’ve never been more convinced that progress is a beautiful thing. In this case, The Progress. The atmosphere is spacious but cozy, rustic and modern at the same time. The cocktails are outstanding. The staff is exceptional by every measure. The food… well this is why we’re here. The food is absolutely phenomenal. There is nothing on the menu that won’t deliver an involuntary sigh of joy, but if you need some direction: the tempura squash, the burrata, and the caviar cloud are a good start, and if you don’t order the duck you may want to reconsider your life choices. I mean look at that dish. You could take a photo and frame it, it’s so beautiful.

The food wasn’t bad at all, and the atmosphere was nice. But it’s lacking the wow factor in my personal opinion. We ordered the three dessert out of the four( we were going to order the forth one but it went out) the taste and texture were all expected. Nothing too special but we liked the food. If I have to say one dish that was memorable was the potato foam. It’s creamy and the taste of potato was strong but not overpowering. We were very looking forward to the duck, but it was just a regular well cooked duck. The service was just okay too. For this price I was expecting just a little more.

Oh, how I wish this place was in my neighborhood. Innovative interesting cuisine with stylish presentation. Every dish we ordered was a knock out. Everything, except the potato was a great shareable portion. Our service was impeccable and timed perfectly for our arrival to the concert starting next door. I highly recommend and get a reservation… just makes life easy for everyone.

Food: This is arguably the best culinary adventure of my life so far and loved that it’s served family-style for everyone to share. We ordered the following 8 dishes (below). All were extremely fresh and tasty but the burrata & scarlet runner beans were my absolute favorite – the perfect combination of textures (crispy beans and melt-in-your-mouth burrata) with the marvelous layering of flavors (earthy beans, creamy cheese, topped with zesty pomelo).

Lovely spot with amazing duck, cherries and lions mane. 3 people shared the same number of small dishes and it felt enough. We ended up paying 70 pp even though one of us had 2 drinks. Guess who that one was..

Just randomly walked by after finishing dinner at BanSang & curious about the line outside The Progress so we followed the crowd entering the bar restaurant. It was packed but all the staff is super nice without busy Restaurant’s attitude. They welcome us even though there’s not much seats left only standing table. Later they invited us to sit down when there’s finally bar seats available. ( It’s so busy but it’s Monday evening.)
