GREAT place to stretch your legs and relax during a long car ride!!! Our kids enjoyed the playground while my husband and I sat on the covered porch. We were greeted right away on an early Friday evening. We had the cheese sticks and “goat balls” to start. Then we had a pulled pork sandwich, quail tenders, and kid had a pancake and egg for our meals. Our waiter, Chad, was so nice and very attentive. They said they had about 30 beers on tap, which my husband ordered a couple. When we decided to move inside due to incoming weather, 2 different staff members helped us move our plates inside and held the door for us. We will for sure come here again!! Only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is that the food was just ok. The Mac and cheese was the biggest offender…completely bland and just tasted like milk.

I hate to leave a bad review-it goes against every fiber of my being but our experience at The Purple Goat was the worst of our entire trip to Stephenville. Service was prompt, from sit down through delivery of bill. Our servicer was a nice young man and did a great job checking on us frequently.

There were no customers there when i got there. We were seated and took forever to put our order in. Asked one person if we could put an order in. They said they sent someone. No one ever came then she ended up taking order after awhile. While I was there I watched customers come in and wait to be seated. After awhile no one came and they left. Food was good once we got it. Got the baked potato and i wanted meat on it.

The service was horrible! I had to holler at the waitress just to be acknowledged for a menu! Then I had to get up and get our own drinks because no one said a word to us after 20 min! Not enough servers at all! And we had to sit outside in the heat of 100 and no water was offered and we didn’t get any silverware or napkins until 2.5 hours being there!!

Eggs were a little overcooked and some butter would have been great for the biscuit but everything tasted amazing. It was better than expected and I drove 140 miles to eat here. So good. Even the biscuit was good. Service was a little slow but it’s a popular place and I showed up at noon on a Sunday. I will definitely return.

Varied selection of burgers so you can always find what you’re craving. The drink menu is the same. My favorite is the mega stuffed potato with brisket. It literally makes three meals for me. My son always goes for the Mom’s mac and cheese with brisket and I think my husband is determined to try every burger on their menu. They have an extensive selection of beers on tap as well. The quality of the food is very high and the wait staff is absolutely amazing. Always a favorite when we go to Stephenville.

The atmosphere was good. The food was ok, the fries weren’t anything special. Had a bluemoon burger and it was just ok as well, nothing overly special but it wasn’t dry or bland just not what you think a special 13 dollar burger would be. Nice playground outside for kids. Fire puts in the covered patio area.

I can not rate the food or drink here unfortunately, though it sounded really good. We arrived as a party of 10 and were seated on the patio right away. It was really hot that day & one of the male employees was kind enough to bring a fan over so he was on point. We made our menu selections & had been ready to place the order for about 10 minutes but no one came. More time passed & the kids started asking us for water since they were hot. Still no one came for our order. We started looking around to find a server & we could see several waitresses but they were all standing around chatting with people. After another 10 minutes with no service, we figured a half hour was long enough to wait, so we left. If it were busy, it’d be different. However, the place was not even 1/4 full. I left quite disappointed bc I really wanted to try their Mudslide drink. It sounded delicious.

Came here with my coworkers during lunch and was promptly seated. I ordered the giant Mac burger and it was delicious. I made a mess attempting to eat the burger and the Mac and cheese fell everywhere.
