Went in, placed our order, and everything was a dollar more than it was up on the board where the food and prices were posted. When I discovered this and questioned the cashier about it, she couldn’t figure out why it was ringing up more than it should have. Then someone from the back came up front and told her that all the prices had changed. And that the prices on the backboard had not yet been updated. I started to contest this but decided that paying the extra few dollars would just be a better outcome. But I took pictures to show everyone what I’m talking about. Look at what we ordered and compare it to our receipt and the prices on the backboard. I just don’t really think that was something I should have been made to pay for being that it was advertised for less on the menu.

This place started off with great food, but really inconsistent CS/ordering process- for the longest time they didn’t even have a solid google page and public phone number. Then the food dropped in quality too and I think many wrote this place off. They eventually went weeks without answering the phone anytime I called.

The menu price did not reflect what I was charged. I questioned this and was told they just have not changed the pricing on the menu. There was no notice posted about price increase. Purple Onion is overcharging customers without offering to tell them up-front of the price increase. I consider this stealing…..and looking at reviews this has been happening for a while. People….look at your receipts. Purple Onion will never get another dollar from me. This is dishonest. This was at the Rainbow City AL location.

They were great and I enjoyed the food. I went through the drive thru and the menu was a little bit confusing but the lady at the window where I picked up our food gave me a menu that had so much more it seemed that the drive thru menu had. She was friendly and polite. Everything turned out well. I definitely plan to go back and would recommend.

It is the best food of its type in Etowah County. The new management has installed a more competent, friendly staff. Place is clean. If you have previously had a bad experience, give them another shot. It’s really good.

I love the kafta kebab with a side of taffouli. Wonderfully seasoned and the beef is cooked to be crispy on the outside while slightly pink and tender on the inside. The mint tea (served chilled) is also great. Now I don’t have to make myself mint tea all the time, I can just go buy some if I’m out and about!

Wish I could put a negative review because the employees are rude and portion size on the gyro plate ( meat wise which is the plate) was maybe 2 or 3 oz of meat.This is the dinner portion not the lunch. Usually that plate from purple onion is a large portion size. I’ve been all over Purple Onion locations but this one was just a joke. Waited for 15 minutes at the drive thru trying to get someone to respond. Go up to the door it’s locked and it’s only 6pm. This was my second time coming to this location and another dude just told me the same thing, his gyro plate was shorted also and he went to get a refund( which hopefully he got). He was mad so was I because we were hungry customers. so I didn’t even try to order this time. For 20 bucks I should get more than a small salad, rice( cheap rice along with cheap salads) and your kid size gyro meat. If you’re the owner or manager at least looking at this review please fire your staff or train them to better portion the food and to be more respectful to your customers. Restaurant 101

Had a pretty bad experience at this location unfortunately. After waiting for some time for my order. I get home to find my kebabs was burnt into the Styrofoam making the food uneatable. Also my pita bread pieces were stale and hard.
