My husband and I came in for breakfast. It is a little unconventional how there’s only one waitress but she manages to get the job done. The coffee was good, the bacon was a little too done for me but the husband loved it. The gravy was pretty horrible. We both agreed on that. The prices are fairly good but parking can be an issue. Overall we are willing to go back for dinner.

So my father and I decided we wanted to have breakfast today. Due to lack of choices in Red Bank we chose this place. We thought from the name it would be a southern style home cooked meal place. We ordered our food and got what we both ordered. I ordered 1 egg over easy, 2 biscuits and gravy, and bacon. My father got 2 eggs over easy, biscuits and gravy and pork chops. The order was right. Here is where the problem comes in. I have had better food served to me at the hospital. The eggs were cold and runny, the biscuits were burnt, and the gravy tastes like wall paper paste. The bacon was under cooked and the pork chops were like leather. My father said and I quote “This is the worst breakfast I have ever had in my life!” And he is 72 years of age. We do not recommend this place at all. Wait unless you do need a cleansing. Not even 10 minutes after eating this food I was in the bathroom feeling it all flush through my body. This place is by far one of the top worst places I have ever had food from.

I have supported this restaurant since it was Southern. It is an ok place to get quick veggies on the way home. Not garden fresh, but edible. I placed an order to pick up before leaving work & was told 15 minutes. When I arrived, the server was sitting on the floor loudly talking to a newly arrived table about someone having a blood clot. There were 3 tables that had finished eating, one of which stood with me for 5 minutes trying to pay. A trainee was trying to get the waitress’s attention to let the man pay and inquire about my order. She told me she would check on it. At the 30 minute mark, she asked my name and what I had ordered. They did not have my order and had not started it. One table and one to go order should not be an issue. It saddens me that the standards have lowered considerably. Normally it would be busy, so I am evidently not the only disappointed person in Red Bank.

Not impressed, Not bad but not special either, They had a 95 restaurant score. Parking is free. Bathrooms were clean and stocked. Tea was watered down. Did not receive any bread with dinner even though every plate photo shows bread on every plate. Chicken strips were very good. Vegetable portions are small

Was the worst breakfast I think I’ve ever had. The grilled chicken tasted like it had been cooked in bacon grease. I ordered over easy eggs that where brought to the table with yolks busted. My wife ordered crispy bacon , that was half cooked and neither of our grits hot . when we sent them back they where returned to us they where so watered down they weren’t worth eating.

Regrettably there is nothing lower than 1 Star. The food looked good but I could not get waited on. I sat myself at 10:39 am and by 10:47 my presence was acknowledged. It’s not as though they were busy. That would have made sense. By 10:50 I had coffee and a menu. At 10:59 I walked. I’m not an especially impatient person. The problem was the 2 servers were preoccupied with yucking it up with the half dozen patrons eating what looked like ok food. I had things to do so I had to go. I have a lot of stuff to do and I’ll never get that 20 minutes back. Perhaps that building should been made back into a dry cleaners. It would Have provided more value to the community.

We sat down, ordered our food, and the staff wasn’t “paying attention” so no one had cooked our food. Once we recieved it, the kids grilled cheese was burnt, my “grilled” chicken undercooked, and macaroni and cheese tasted horrible. Service was extremely lacking. She even dropped pie on the floor and then served it to a customer stating it had not touched the floor. I was so excited about this place because southern is no longer in red bank, but we will NOT go back.

My grandpa and grandma LOVED to eat at the Southern Restaurant. Almost every day. My mom, aunt and I continued the tradition of eating there as well. So it was no problem when they moved to this new location and changed their name. The waitresses are always so nice and they have really delicious comfort food. However, my quality of experience has lessened since they moved to the new location. My first time in after the move, the waitress (during polite convo) mentioned that Shuford’s BBQ had a low health score. Upon checking for myself, I found out this was not true. They actually had a great score, similar to the diner. So that kind of put me off. No need to spread lies about your competition. Second time I go in, I found a big black eyelash in my food. I show it to my waitress and ask if I could have my food remade. No problem. But towards the end of the meal, I found a shard of glass on the table. That’s a big red flag for me and kind of scary as you don’t know if there’s glass in the food. I showed it to my waitress. She goes to the back and I hear her tell someone about the glass. But no one comes out to talk to me (no manager or owner). The waitress sorts of brushes it off, collects the shard and that’s it. The lack of concern, concerns me. I think the tradition of eating here will end with me. I hope there will be improvements in management and cleanliness for this place. It’s a great local place, but there’s just been too many incidences for my liking.

Cheap breakfast spot. Plenty of food. Eggs and pancake cooked to order and good. Corned beef hash seemed canned and very salty. I would stick to breakfast basics, eggs, toast, grits, waffles, etc, and no meats eating here.

Food was bland. Catfish was cooked in old grease. Portions were smalls. Waitresses were using their cell phones and ignoring customers. Air conditioning must not have been working because it was hot inside. There were staff constantly going in and out the back door. First try won’t be back.
