The food was Amazing!!! The falafel was the best I’ve had in a while, especially with the sauce they provided. Drinks were a heavy pour, which is always good! Our waiter was great! The decor is simple chic, however it can be a bit drafty in there depending on what time of year you go and where they seat your party. We went in February and every time someone came in or out we could feel the cold air draft because of where our seats were. Therefore, we had to put on our coats while we ate which was not ideal. At the end of our meal. Once we payed the bill we wanted to get a snapshot to commemorate the evening because it was for a birthday and we asked a different server who told us yes she would do it. She said she’d be right back, and then she walked past our table several times without saying a word. Which was quite irritating. And it was not busy at all in the restaurant. I probably won’t be back, but I feel like it’s just because one time was enough to have the experience and to say that you’ve been to the restaurant in the Durham.

@noeliaana I like it! The atmosphere, music, service and food were wonderful! Is kind expensive but its worth, we ordered Montreal ribeye and lamb whit Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot noir wine. $160

The setting is perfect. Along with the rooftop bar and live music it is hard to argue for a better venue in Durham. Service was exceptional as well. The waitress was extremely attentive as there were not a lot of patrons at the restaurant. But the food did not hold up it’s end of the bargain. Ordered the stuffed flounder, octopus and also crab cake appetizer, with the ribeye as well. Crab cake was good with moderate flavor. Octopus was mediocre without real bite to it as it was small even for an app. The flounder and ribeye were both under seasoned. Lastly I don’t care what my lady says, I know how to recognize a NY Strip. Food was just not up to par with the decor and service given.

Excellent dinner. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate requests. Even providing options that weren’t on the menu! Thank you!

I booked this restaurant for my birthday. It wasn’t giving luxury to me personally. They can definitely fix up the inside needs a makeover. I wanted the roof top but it wasn’t available that’s how I ended up in the restaurant. The food was pretty good however and the service was good. I had the duck and it was prepared perfect. To my ladies that likes taking bathroom pics lol this bathroom doesn’t make the cut. Overall decent spot but not really fancy about it.

We enjoyed the cocktails! The appetizers were also good, and the desserts were great! The Espresso Crème Brûlée was our favorite, followed by the Dark Chocolate Cheesecake, then the Key Lime Curd, the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, and finally, the Vegan Orange Almond Cake(it was a little dry and dense). However, the absolute BEST part of our dining experience from the restaurant at the Durham Hotel was our amazing waitress, Emily! Emily was very catering. She remembered our dietary needs and modified them accordingly. She never let us wait for long before checking up on us. She was consistent throughout our entire dining experience(we were there till closing for a sisters lunch turned into dinner get together). She helped take our pictures! She was great! Emily is a great part of this business, and we will request her EVERY TIME we dine there, for sure! She deserves a raise and a bonus! It’s not easy caring for a table of 13 people. She did it with ease, comfort, confidence, and professionalism! Great job, Emily!!!

I went to this restaurant specifically for dessert that was advertised online on the menu. We were met at the entrance by a annoyed pregnant woman -hostess, who showed her visible irritation when we asked for a different table. When I asked the waiter for a desert menu I was shown only two very average desserts ( croissant, and coffee cake). I end up ordering parfait, which was literally just a yogurt with a jam. The interior design is very nice, but that’s all. Food is extremely average, I would not recommend it.

What a special place! Nice ambiance and great original food. Can find various options. Had of all kinds – on a lighter side fish with veg or braised beef and pork or a burger. Great service too. Always.

I really enjoyed getting brunch at the Durham Hotel. The restaurant is so beautiful with its retro decor. The room is huge with tall ceilings so it feels really open and airy. I got the French toast fried chicken and it was delicious. I also got a coffee soda which I loved. The service was excellent as well.
