The Dining Grandpa
Ate at a cool little diner this afternoon. I’ve ate at the “the roost” in fishers, but this place is much better than the fishers spot. This place offers great service and food at very reasonable prices in a well appointed restaurant. Decor, lighting, booths and bar area look fresh and inviting. Plenty of indoor seating at booths, split booths, tables and at the bar counter. With nice outdoor seating (weather permitting) right along the Monon Trail. Nice area and location. Breakfast and lunch only closes at 3pm. She (the Wife) had chicken and waffles, I had a breaded pork tenderloin with home cut fries. Chicken and waffle comes with Nashville hot spicy chicken tenders. So if that won’t do tell them regular chicken tenders, they’ll substitute no problem. Wife really loved her chicken and waffle and I can’t tell you how scrumptious my pork tenderloin was. First off it was huge and on and knot bun. Pounded out nice and thin, then breaded and fried to crunchy perfection. Very delicious indeed I normally don’t like home cut fries because they are usually soggy. But like my tenderloin, the fries were delicious, crunchy and well seasoned. All over a great experience with good service and great food. Thanks a lot hope to return soon.

My friends and I(5 of us total) went to eat here because we saw the TikTok for bottomless mimosas. We get seated and we’re told they had to stop the special early because people were getting too carried away. We were disappointed, but I get it. (Unsolicited tip for The Roost; maybe put a sign out front that says such. Especially since the server said that literally everyone has been asking about the special). We still wanted to try the food because all the pics looked AMAZING! We were wrong.

It’s an OK breakfast spot. I came for the unlimited mimosas. Unfortunately, they no longer serve them. It’s like they’re using it to get people in the door because they just promoted it less than a week before I came. It definitely was very loud, but I think that’s because everybody was drinking mimosas. Despite the fact of the unlimited not being offered, they offer half-price bottles. I believe it was $15 per bottle after the discount.

I’d say slightly above average for a breakfast place. It was about a 15 minute wait to be sat. Not bad because they were very busy. I love that they offer oatmilk for their lattes. Biscuits and gravy tasted good, though a little plain. The waffle was nice and crispy but came out a little on the cold side. Husband got the English fry up with french press coffee and a side of french toast. He said it was all pretty good. I would go back!

This place was fantastic for breakfast. Friendly service with a good atmosphere, and the food was great. My son had the cinnamon roll French toast, which was great. I had the corned beef hash, also very good. Their toast was made from homemade bread and it awesome. I’d love to go back, but we were just traveling through… Maybe I’ll make it back someday.

We waited for 10 minutes at the door to be seated only to be told that we were at an exit! Oops! but once we got to the front and were seated we put in our orders. However, we weren’t served for an hour and a half (not including the standing time). The waitress gave us our drinks and had told us that the kitchen had been busy so we asked for the coffee cakes for the time being. We got the cakes but she never came back after an hour later… Once we asked someone about our food we were served shortly after. With another plate of cakes. I had been in a rush to leave town so this extra delay was not convenient but we were not charged for the extra plate of cakes. I couldn’t tell if our table was forgotten or if the extra cake order was to make up for the wait but I will take it as an apology even though it appeared to be a mistake.

every person we encountered the hostess, server and person refilling my coffee were tremendously friendly and professional. We were there on Sunday morning so it was very busy but the server made us feel valued. We both had omelettes and they were both good but not exceptional and the toast was cold. Overall a good experience and we will be back.

I have ordered Hoosier Benedict with 1 egg for to-go and who would have thought that it will make me laugh.

The worst experience I’ve had dining from start to finish! Four of my friends and I went here specifically for the bottomless mimosas. We arrive and have a 40 minute wait, which I thought was somewhat understandable because of the mimosa deal and it was St. Patty’s Day. So we finally get seated and have to wait for the waitress. She finally comes and tells us they no longer have the bottomless mimosas. First disappointment! Literally the reason we came! Against our better judgment, we decide to stay and order a $36 bottle of Prosecco (would’ve been $9.99 at the liqour store). The waitress asked each of us which juice we waited just to bring out ONE 12 oz glass of juice for five of us to share!!! And when we asked for another juice there was an additional charge.
