The sailfish is good place to come and sit by the water, enjoy a good, ice cold beer or cocktail. Either by yourself, with a friend or with a group. Make sure you check the calendar for when they have live entertainment by the water. Today I decided on the tuna poke bowl as a starter and the sailfish sea scampi. The tuna poke bowl is full of flavor, good portion of tuna, mango bits and cilantro. The sailfish sea scami with pasta in a lemon wine sauce. Good portion of shrimp, mussels, and baby clams. This dish was screaming for garlic, but sadly it did not have any. Also the lemon wine sauce, although full of flavor, IMO should be reduced down to a thicker sauce. It was basically in a lemon wine soup. But still good flavor.

While the view is good, the seating is uncomfortable. The menu is limited. We ordered the shrimp basket (which was pretty good but tiny shrimp) my husband ordered the crab cake sandwich. He offered me a taste and I stated it didn’t taste like crab. After inquiring further, we were informed that it contained “a little” FLOUNDER. It tasted like mostly flounder. Now we were not allergic to fish, but many people are. That is not disclosed on the menu. They need to get professionals to run that kitchen.

We had a great dinner here. We didn’t order much but it was delicious. We had the hush puppy app and the friend shrimp dinner. Both were really good. The service was friendly and attentive. The only place I could see a little improvement is where we sat on the outside deck. There were napkins, cup lids, and stuff that had fallen on the deck, and staff walked past many times. With just a little breeze, that stuff is going in the marsh, which I could already see some in there. If you’re going to operate on the water, the utmost respect (which I am sure the owners try to apply) for the water should be taken. I am not bashing, just an observation. As I stated, food,service, and atmosphere all were very delightful and can’t wait to come back to the restaurant and enjoy great food, and some live music soon. Thanks for providing an awesome spot to relax with stunning waterway views.

We ordered the blackened grouper sandwich and when the food arrived, I thought they forgot to put the fish on the sandwich, however what I found was a very small piece of grouper. The fish was cool to the touch and did not taste fresh. It also lacked any decent blackened flavor. For $18, I expected a decent sandwich. The fries were good as was the service. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, so I added a 2nd star. While we will never order the grouper again, we may go back for the view and a cold beverage.

I used to frequent the sailfish quite a bit… restaurant I can get to by boat which is nice. Last experience there was pretty bad. Did not receive what I ordered could have been an easy mistake but when the waitress had the manager come talk to me he simply said that’s the right thing do you want me to bring the chef out here? Didn’t offer to make it right, nothing else just said that and walked away. Probably won’t go well if you keep running off the locals.

We planned to have Sunday lunch at Sailfish today. 1 hour 20 min later, seated at a table, no food. Our waitress was kind, but fibbed that we got behind an 8 top table. Many other tables were served after the 8 top. Bar Manager and onsite manager said they had proof our order had only been in 32 mins??!! We sat there, watched people come and go and finally decided to leave after being overlooked for so long. We asked what the problem was AND the manager yelled at us! Extremely rude. It was a hot, busy day for them, and I know it can be frustrating, but we never got lunch! We were not only frustrated, but hungry. We were highly disappointed. I know things happen, but in a service industry, to not acknowledge the problem, and raise their voice to us as the customer, there was absolutely no excuse.

Yummy. If you haven’t tried it recently you should, it was allready a great view and decent food, but recently the food has been trending towards amazing…definitely a keeper.
