The Salt Line was, hands down, one of the best seafood restaurants that we have visited. We went for the oysters, but were pleasantly surprised by how good everything else was as well. We had a couple of desserts afterwards and they were just as good as the oysters! We will definitely be going back and will recommend it to anyone we know traveling in the area!

I celebrated valentines and my husbands birthday here, and it was amazing! Our server, Jon, was attentive, made great recommendations, and was fun to talk with! The valentines special gnocchi was absolutely delicious! The oysters were fresh and tasty. Portions are not huge, but I’m not mad about it since we got to try a variety of dishes without feeling over stuffed. Drinks were also very tasty, especially the passion paloma.

The Salt Line is an absolute gem among seafood restaurants in the Washington DC area. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was captivated by the restaurant’s inviting ambiance and warm, friendly staff. The culinary experience that followed was nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish presented an impeccable fusion of flavors, showcasing the freshest seafood delicacies. The attention to detail and creativity in the presentation truly elevated the dining experience. The Salt Line’s commitment to sourcing sustainable and locally-sourced ingredients is commendable and adds an extra touch of authenticity to every bite. Ambiance and service was remarkable. Rachel our server was so friendly and attentive. The crab dip was on point. For my entree I ordered the Housemade Campanelle and it was delicious! Dessert made me feel at home, it was the perfect way to end our night ! Highly recommend this restaurant. You will not regret it.

I went pretty close to when they open up for brunch on a Saturday and it was pretty quiet. The ambiance is nice and the server was very friendly and helpful. However, the food was a bit mid, I got a fish sandwich which is what I usually a fish restaurant on when I try out a place. The fish lacked flavor, it got soggy pretty fast, and the side salad it came with was extremely bitter with no other component to it. As a native New Englander, the clam chowder wasn’t the worst I had but nothing very standout. The best things I had here were my cocktail and my dessert (a black tea panna cotta), but the panna cotta took a very long time to arrive. So if you want to grab drinks here, I would highly recommend. I can’t speak to the other food, but I think if you want seafood other than raw oysters I would go elsewhere.

Delicious food, great oysters (would love to come here for the oyster happy hour sometime) and in the summer the outdoor seating is really atmospheric. Suspect you might need to book for a date night though as it was definitely popular. Would happily return

Over a half dozen different types of fresh oysters rated by size and saltiness. Decadent looking seafood platters. Some great wines and very tasty food. Service was fantastic – attentive, knowledgeable, good suggestions. Be ready to spend some cash, but it’s worth the expense.

Early dinner with the family. I’m the seafood guy, them not so much…. Burger and roast beef sandwich, both very good. Especially for a seafood restaurant. Crab dip appetizer is THE BEST! I had the lobster roll. Very tasty. Consider reservations. We snuck in early.

Had a great time dining at The Salt Line sharing The Kraken (oysters, clams, lobster, crab, shrimp & accouterments with Chef’s daily goodies of smoked whitefish, pickled mussels, seasoned salmon roe) and crispy octopus, with the Portuguese stew for my main.
