Great place for some great local food. Laid back, casual atmosphere. For reference I paid well under $20 for a shrimp and flounder platter, and around $15 for a fried oyster platterand it was excellent food. The staff are very nice and engaging. We always enjoy or stops here. Great place for families.

It was very hot today so we drove down the street to enjoy prime rib dinner night! You can’t find a better bargain than this place and a friendly local restaurant! Our waitress Kyra did a great job and she is just one of the great team here!

Really good and friendly service. The food is always hot. The salad was extra fresh, and the ranch dressing is house made. Patient, senior friendly, and the manager walks around and greets the customers. You don’t get that anymore.

In town on business, needed a quick lunch that wasn’t fast food. They were really busy, but brought our food pretty fast and it all was very good homestyle cooking! Staff was kind and attentive. Definitely stopping here for breakfast next time in town.

June2023-We frequent Sawmill alot. When we go, we usually go for the shrimp. When we say we want crispy HOT fries, that doesn’t mean warm fries. So frustrating. Also, when we order seafood, we want hushpuppies. We don’t want to hear, “we are too busy, we aren’t cooking any”. NOT acceptable! We waited a freaking hour to get a table, what’s 10 more minutes to get hushpuppies and HOT fries. If this continues, we’ll have to find a place that serves it all. We went to Sawmill Restaurant in Castle Hayne last night. It had been raining and as I went in, they had a double rainbow behind them. Cool picture. Dinner was great. Hubby had fried shrimp and I had a grilled chicken salad. Server was very friendly and fun.

Very nice find. Hush puppies were tasty. Could’ve used a little more bacon on the BLT but they did have rye bread which was nice. Also got a shrimp Po boy which has a generous amount of shrimp and very good. Service was friendly and good. Recommend!
