1st time here and wanted to give it a try. It wasn’t crowded and I love the music they were playing. I tried the Muffuletta, it’s not my cup or tea but this will not deter me from giving this place another shot. Our waiter was nice and answered all our questions.

Went for lunch. Overall everything was good but not very memorable. The fried chicken liver appetizer was very good, but I wasn’t wild about the pepper jelly on them. Cheese grits were great. Red beans and rice was OK. The BBQ shrimp were OK but too salty. Desserts were great, especially the chocolate one.

Food was delicious. Well seasoned, well paced meal. Our waiter Hogan was a treat even when dealing with a very demanding/rude table near us. We had the andouille pimento cheese fries, the red fish atchafalaya and the kingfield pasta. They also gave us the bread pudding desert on the house. Was a nice anniversary night out for us. Wonderful drinks! Bar staff was very attentive. Catfish plate was underwhelming…no flavor. I had to ask for extra tartar sauce to disguise the bland, basic taste (was it even catfish)! The side dishes were great!

Been there Saturday night for a birthday party at the patio, the party was great, the space is good and great atmosphere. We were happy with the service and plates presentation. Until our main dishes taken forever to be delivered, someone have gave me their side of mac and cheese because they felt bad for knowing I’m pregnant and my food was not there yet. So I got a side of mac and cheese witch was good but could have more seasoning to it. waited for a whole lot for my oysters and my husbands side of mac and cheese came super late, cold and oily (we have took home, to go). BBQ shrimp was one of the worse plates I’ve ever tried but we were enjoying the party so we didn’t wanna complain… anyway, we all ordered the check so we could go, (since it was chilling down and the heaters were not working as the server said), all our checks came with double charge of 20% gratuity!!! Don’t get me wrong, the server deserved the 20% gratuity for the good service but charge us twice was dishonest. asked him about it and he said it was not going to be charged twice and it was just the way the bill was printed (BS!) gave him the card and it was charged 40% gratuity. All Checks from that party were charged 40% gratuity!!! I went to him and showed him that it was not right so he fixed my check and said he would not charge me gratuity. I have included his fair 20% and came home very upset because all the other guests were cheated on! he really took off even the 20% I added later on, but it was not nice of him with everybody else. Very disappointing!

I’m not sure how to rate this restaurant given our experience today, but I can share what happened. We sat outside, the inside tables were all reserved, no problem. It appeared the hostess sat 6 tables at once for the one server outside, inexperienced perhaps but a mistake. We stayed patient, and our server tried his best, but there was no way for him to manage the 6 tables plus 2 more after us. After waiting over a half hour, we had to move on. The manager came out to apologize because the kitchen was overwhelmed like the server. He gave us an appetizer to go, on the house. It had great potential, crawfish fries, but was underdone. All in all, I’d give them another try because they were trying their best and were honest about the difficulties.
