We love Tolchester & The Shanty Beach Bar!! The food, atmosphere, & staff are all great for the most part. The only reason I wouldn’t give this place 5 stars is due to one of the bartenders named Carrie (she has short pink/purple hair). She is by far the rudest person I’ve ever encountered. This isn’t a one time interaction either. We travel to Tolchester quite often by boat and every time I’ve had to order through her she has been extremely rude to the point that it’s uncomfortable to be around.

Fantastic view of the bay with some of the most beautiful sunsets. There is ample parking but most all come via boat. They have a marina with travel lift, a restaurant and bar with live music. Check dates and times for band info. There is a large pavillion that would easily cover a very party. Wifi is available but good luck with it being somewhat scarce.

Great place to go by boat and beach up to get in water. Try the mudslide but ask for the ice cream sandwich garnish!!!

One of my absolute favorite locations on the Eastern Shore. There is nothing “fancy” about the location, which in my opinion provides it’s appeal. Friendly staff, great basic food, drinks are competitively priced, live music, and those sunset views!

Skip the rockfish bites. 3 tiny battered & fried pieces for $15. One waitress at the upper bar was so rude. She needs some coaching. The others were very friendly. Dock hands were amazing!

First time did not disappoint and will be back. Food was great and drinks were good – not terribly expensive. Setting was ideal. One of the better waterfront spots on the bay without question.
