Ditch Chicken Adventures (Ditch Chicken)
Best BBQ yet! So much flavor and portions were just right. Brisket and pulled pork was extremely tender and delicious. The blueberry cobbler was heavenly. We sat outside and enjoyed much needed sunshine (from Maine so you know, just lost last bit of snow). When in Abilene, put this on your “to do” list for either lunch or supper!

This has quickly become an Abilene and a personal favorite. Their barbecue is tender, smoky, and very well seasoned. The staff is friendly and they have plenty of seating (both indoors and outdoors). They have some really awesome sides as well. They are on Buffalo Gap Road…almost out of town, but worth the drive.

This place is on the pricey side but it’s like fine dining meets BBQ. They have the usual Texas BBQ selections: Brisket, pulled pork, smoked sausage etc. Side items are unique but not gimmicky versions of home favorites like Ranch Potato Salad or Green Chile Mac n Cheese. The Potato salad is amazing so give it a try! If I could give it 20 star I would. It’s definitely worth the price!

I’ve been an Executive Chef for over a decade in the PNW and when I tell you this is BY FAR THE BEST BBQ I have ever had in my entire life. Just, wow. USDA Prime brisket is no joke. Ribs are amazing. Everything so flavorful, tender, juicy. Simply to die for. When I’m in Texas again, I’ll come back here!

Bring your wallet and plan to enjoy your meal! You can eat for cheaper, if you get a sandwich, but the plates are a little pricey, but worth EVERY PENNY. The beef RIB…holy cow!!! It was massive (and $40, because it was 1.9 lbs.!!) But it was falling off the bone and absolutely dissolved in my mouth!! I cannot ever visit without having their stellar brisket! Don’t miss this BBQ!!
