This place does not look like a gem but the fresh greasy burgers are AWESOME!! By far the best road Trip burger I have ever eaten and I’ve logged many many miles!! A dive of a convenience store but a treasure as a small corner grill!! Place order ahead of time if you have the chance, the wait can get long, especially if you’re not the only one in there!

Quality is top notch, atmosphere is fine as long as you think ordering a cheeseburger in a convenience store fits your idea of normality. Stopped in once, brought the burger home and ate it. Had a chance to go back and got another quarter pound cheeseburger, hold the onions. It doesn’t disappoint!

I ventured to The Shopping Bag because i was encouraged to try their burger by a fellow VTer. The Cowboy burger caught by eye and was very delicious, the Onion ring on the burger is a game changer. Definitely worth the 50 minute drive from Barre, VT

Finally made it to the shopping bag and was not disappointed. Its a small unassuming convenience store, but inside it hides a gem! I got the sizzler- it was MASSIVE juicy and rich, It is about as good a classic burger as you can get. I generally prefer things like avo, bbq, peppers/onions etc on mine to spice up the flavor… but I didnt wanna stray from what theyre known for. If youre looking For an exceptional classic burger and a local beer definitely stop by!

The Shopping bag is a small neighborhood corner convenience shop, BUT.. with a grill up front, and a butcher/meat counter in back! Sizzler burger is awesome. Grab some drinks out of cooler (they have Surge!) and place your food order at the register. Staff is nice and entertaining while you wait.. can be a little long 10-15 minutes as order is made fresh, well worth it! Crowd inside can sometimes be a bit sketchy, but you can always call ahead and place orders over phone for pick up limiting the time waiting..

The Sizzler is a great burger, especially considering it’s only $7. Half pound of beef bacon and all the fixings, lettuce and tomato included. It’s made at a grill station in the front of a neighborhood store. You grab your drink and order at the cashier. It took about 10 minutes when I was there and there’s no great place to wait. Service was a little rude. It’s the kind of place where you need to be a regular.

I used to live on Cedar st, about a block away from the Shopping Bag, and this place was basically my bodega. I could get toilet paper, a Sizzler, beer, detergent and maybe see a fight all in one place.
