This location is in a Foodhall so it’s not sit down and be waited on service, but there’s cute shops and it’s a nice place. The waffle and fried chicken combo was delicious! I loved the sauce and pickle. I’ve never had gluten free chicken and waffles so it was a fun treat. I also love the name! It wasn’t until my map software pronounced it that I got the joke.

All gluten free menu that has so many yummy options. The location is kind of a food court building, which is super cool!

A Gluten Free Paradise! Everything in this restaurant is celiac safe and has delicious food even for those who do not eat gluten free. I had the chicken and waffle sandwich and it was fantastic! Gluten free food usually has an odd texture but this place has it right. This is a great place to stop in for lunch, it is not too expensive especially for it all being gluten free. The donuts were delicious, the only thing that fell a bit short was the cherry pie.

The Silly Little Axe is in a very cute building. It’s store front all though a little quiet because it’s not as busy as the other restaurants around it, is inviting, clean and well advertised. There is inside and outside dinning. You place your order at the counter and then they bring your food to the table. The employees are very friendly. The food came in a reasonable amount of time. Everything was delicious. Our order consisted of: axe hamburger (fresh bun was delicious and it didn’t fall apart, the meat tasted like a fresh patty not frozen and it was served with lettuce and tomato); fried chicken and waffle (the chicken was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, the sauce was on point and the waffle was also very good. It never fell apart.); jerk chicken wrap (it was fried chicken in the jerk sauce wrapped in a tortilla. All three meals ordered had us all loving every bight. The presentation of the food is casual. But the flavors will positively surprise you. We were happy we made the trip over to this place from Louisville. Will return and suggest it to others.

So nice to have this option for dining. I have no dietary issues but my partner does. I was happy to tag along and give this place a try. I had The Fun Guy which is a portobello based sandwich. It was very tasty and filling, yet I struggle with the texture of the bread, it tasted okay but kinda crumbled like cornbread. My partner devoured the chicken and waffle sandwich. He loved it, and I tasted the waffle and found it surprisingly good. We shared the carrot cake and it disappeared in a mere minute or two. Yum! We also got lasagna to go so we won’t have to drive the hour to sample something else. Nice staff, and located in a fun area of the Highlands.

Some of the best gluten free food and service I’ve ever had! We stopped by for brunch on a roadtrip and all 5 of us loved our meals! We even got some treats and fried chicken to go. The chicken and waffles was phenomenal! We will absolutely be back again and next time we’ll try the large selection of gluten free beers and fish fry. Wish we could get a Silly Axe Cafe in Wisconsin!

It’s very disheartening that this place has such great potential but is always underwhelming. I am never one to complain or make a bad review unless it’s warranted. I understand they were understaffed, but the service all 5 times I’ve been wasn’t good. No one is friendly, the cashier always has to ask questions to someone in the kitchen (different cashiers) because they frequently run out of things and the food isn’t worth the price. I only got a couple of pictures this time but I paid for a fish dinner that was $19 after tax and it was very greasy, and if we hadn’t waited 35 minutes for our food, I wouldn’t have eaten it. There wasn’t anyone there a full 15 minutes after we ordered and it still took that long. After we were there and got our food, a couple families came in and wanted to move tables to sit together, and asked nicely. The person asked said “whatever” and walked off. My fiancé and I ordered from the bar and I asked what a certain beer was like and they said they didn’t know because they don’t drink them. This is the only fully gluten free restaurant in town and with someone with an autoimmune disorder I had high hopes. So much so that I’ve tried it multiple times thinking it was just flukes but it’s every time.

I visited the Silly Axe at Logan Street Market for the first time today for breakfast. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese waffle sandwich. It took about 20 min to get my food. To wait that long and pay $15+, you’d think I’d get the best BEC waffle sandwich ever, but no, it was so basic, dry and flavorless. It looked nice but the taste was severely disappointing. To be a cafe that focuses on waffles, you’d expect to get the best waffle. It was plain and flavorless, not savory, not sweet. The sandwich was supposed to come w fruit, but they gave me pickles. The best thing on my plate was the pickles. It also took way too long to get my food. My husband got food somewhere else and was waiting on me to get my food to eat, so his was ice cold by the time my sandwich was done. Stop asking for tips w every food order these days, it’s stuff like this that doesn’t deserve a tip but you don’t know till after you get your food.

I definitely recommend this spot in Louisville! Brought a gf friend from Georgia and they were SO excited. I enjoyed the fact that she didn’t have to worry about anything she ordered. We got like 3 meals AND carry out the food was actually really good too — I didn’t know what to expect. I liked that they had gluten free beer too!

This place is a must go to!! Whether you are celiac or not, the food is soooooo good. I am celiac and I always worry about what I’m ingesting from restaurants even when they offer a gluten free menu. Cross contamination is real. I had the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla and my husband had the bacon sandwich with potato wedges. My husband did a pick up. He said the guy behind the counter was having an off day. Forgot items in the order and kind of had an attitude when going back in to get the order completed, but other than that it was fantastic. I still rate the place beyond 5 stars, we all have off days. I truly think this place should franchise out!! We need more places like this everywhere.
