The experience overall was great. Beautiful grounds to explore. But the food was not the best. They had this fish they “caught off the coast of Florida”, but when I bit into it I swear.. it had a strong taste of ammonia! And the flank steak was extremely tough. I could barely chew through the first bite, so I did not bother with the rest. The broccolini was good, and they work well with sauces. But if we are paying that much, use better quality meats. Host mentioned they use local grass fed / grain finished meat. I eat grass finished at home, so I was not impressed with that.

This is a completely fulfilling experience from the serene farm setting to the exceptional staff and exquisite food. We especially appreciated Sheridan – if you have the pleasure of his service you will understand what a treasure he is. Sheridan enhances the meaning of fine dining in every respect. Our party of four enjoyed the trout, duck, pasta, and steak. Each delicious and creative. The chef personally greets you and you never felt rushed which I value. There is a fire pit, silo you can explore, and game room all available for your enjoyment. You are encouraged to explore the grounds and stay as long as you wish. We were surrounded by guests celebrating special events from a wedding to birthday to anniversary. No surprise as this is the perfect place for a special celebration. Truly remarkable. Thank you. The farm itself is absolutely gorgeous. Would love to come back and stay. We came just for dinner and while lovely, the setup is a little different. Starting in March they changed from a prix fix menu with one communal seating and shared plates to an a la carte menu. The setup is still communal but you aren’t sharing any food with the people next to you. If they want this a la carte menu to continue in my opinion they need to change to individual tables. It was extremelly hard to communicate with people across the table.

Five of us went for Pasta night and it was excellent! From the bartender Tina who made excellent cocktails to Sheridan our server who was friendly and informative, we enjoyed the extraordinary meal and great conversation with new “friends” that we made at the communal dinner table. I came to The Horse Shoe Farm for pre-fix dinner with friends, and was blown away. I just had to write this review. I have had many meals in Asheville and Hendersonville, and this was the best by far. Perfection from the pre-dinner cocktails, through the family-style deliciousness, to dessert and coffee. Not to mention the exquisite dining room, and that view! Before each course, the chef offered descriptions of the dishes along with the local farms where the ingredients were sourcerd. Two breads, salad, pasta, chicken, vegetables, and dessert each item better than the last. Can’t wait to return. Whether you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion, or just in the mood for the best farm to table around, THIS IS IT! The one person in our party who was vegetarian left full and happy, as the chicken was only one of many extraordinary dishes to enjoy. Go here! Thank me later.
