As a New England transplant living here in Fredericksburg I was excited to see a bagel shop open here. Southern Bagel & Provisions is just like being at a bagel shop back home (but nicer people). The staff was super friendly and helpful. I got the sesame bagel with egg, cheese and homemade sage sausage, it was pure deliciousness (good luck finding that in NYC). My sandwich was ready promptly and was almost too big to finish. My date ordered the sesame bagel with egg cheese and ham, again pure deliciousness.

I was able to make their grand opening and let me tell you, I was impressed! The fresh ingredients, the southern hospitality, and the modern twist to bagel sandwiches was very comforting, yet satisfying. The place was packed and it felt as if this was just a normal grind where being busy was the status quo. Do yourself a favor and pop in for a casual sandwich and fresh dripped coffee. The owner was literally walking around fulfilling requests of a napkin or extra ketchup. I’ll be back next… tomorrow!

What a joke. When they rang me up for a $12 bagel sandwich, I was expecting the best bagel sandwich I’ve ever had. It was the worst. First of all, it was wrong. I ordered and paid for a ham egg and cheese bagel and it came with no cheese. The bagels are TERRIBLE. But just peeking behind the counter explains it- they aren’t fresh they get store bought bagels that are dry and bland. I could have made a better bagel on my own. The shop is set up in a confusing way- every single customer who walked in didn’t know where to go to order. The wait was way too long and there were 3 employees just standing around the whole time. I would never go back and hope a REAL bagel shop can take this one’s place in Fredericksburg. Save your money and time- don’t come here.

Bagel shop? Downtown? I had to try. When you get the entire Fredericksburg Fire department in here, your doing something right.

As a NYC transplant living in FXBG, I was beyond ecstatic to see a bagel shop opening up. Unfortunately, this isn’t really a bagel bakery. Most NYers would probably call it a deli that makes sandwiches on subpar bagels.

Amazing bagels, delicious sandwiches, and great coffee!! Bagels are straight from NY. Great Staff and very friendly. They also have Gluten Free bagels/options that are fantastic!

I tried this place today ordered a smoked salmon bagel sandwich and tried and iced chai latte and my order was $22. Both were very good. Pricing is on the high side but I like to support small businesses. There was a little wait but the staff was nice.

First time here. Line moved quick enough, bagels ready quick enough. The food was fine. I love bagels and cream cheese, and the bagels themselves are tasty (we got the quinoa one, however they’re just store bought, so, meh), the rest of the bagel eating experience left a bunch to be desired. First, both of us specifically ordered ‘toasted’ bagels with smear (his jalapeño, mine caramelized onion). What we received were kinda warm bagels with a glop of smear on one side of the bagel. If you eat it like a sandwich, it’s fine, but we both open ours to eat it half by half… and I had to use my finger to mush some cream cheese onto the other half of the soft, not toaster bagel… and the onion smear was flavorless (for a $4.50 upcharge over a plain bagel, I was surprised) the jalapeño was tastier. All in all, 2 flat, barely heated, not-house-made, weirdly creamed bagels for $15 seemed… a bit much. Hopefully, it’s just growing pains. We’ll give them another shot.

Great bagel, but staff should be honest, if you say you have all bagels available in the back….and then your first two choices are suddenly not available, maybe should have started with we have most bagels in stock.

Onion Bagel was classic NY style and delicious. There’s a large portion on the Smoked Salmon and it was delicious! Wasn’t in a hurry so the wait didn’t bother us and it was very busy so to be expected.
