Food okay. But several messups. Steak burger with onions missing gravey. Baked potato had only butter and a little sour cream. No cheese, onions, bacon. Salad was nice, but the ranch taste like pure salt. That part not good. Burger was good, but fries greasy, limpy and unseasoned. Breakfast choices limited. Need a pancake/waffle plate. Service bit slow.

Had dinner here with friends and decided to order a margarita. They don’t have a cocktail/ drink menu so I decided to ask for a margarita. I ordered 1 and by the time my meal arrived, I was about 75% done with that one so I decided to ask for another one. I noticed that the server was a little worried that I might be intoxicated, I didn’t think too much of it just thought she was being precautionary. When we got the bill back, I noticed that I was charged for a double shot for each margarita. That and the fact that I received top shelf liquor that I did not ask for brought my margaritas to $18 apiece. Aside from the surprise cost of that, this is a large liability, and is dangerous to do. I am obviously very glad I was not driving,. Any patron should consent to the amount of alcohol that they are consuming, not only for cost reasons, but for liability/safety reasons. I hope they see this review and are able to train their stuff to make better decisions.

Been there forever before the stock yards went crazy commercial. Best chicken fried steak and tenderloin salad in the city!

Excellent steak. I own a BBQ restaurant and a chef. The steak was amazing. My wife had the chicken fried steak which was perfect. Treated like royalty. Going back very soon. Our waitress was family in 5 minutes. Took great care of us. More than five stars.

Great little diner with Texas sized portions! This really feels like a hometown diner in a big city. The staff he’s very cheery and polite. The food is great you better be hungry if you’re going. There’s extra seating in the side banquet room. This place is busy though. You might have to wait a little while during breakfast and lunch hour. The atmosphere is really fun! Lots of Texas memorabilia

At the Star Cafe I had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes, side salad, gravy and bisquits. The chicken fried chicken was tender hot and made to order. Mashed potatoes were freshly made. The bisquits are made in house not the ones that come in a box. The staff is wonderful. A good place to have lunch or any meal while at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

The worst place perhaps in the whole stockyards area. Some waitresses are nice but the same cannot be said about the old lady behind the counter. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere as there are plenty of restaurants back to back. Not sure why they think they represent the Texan hospitality when it is everything but. This place has a lower rating compared to other restaurants nearby for a reason, as the other reviews can tell you as well.

The burger was not as big as they described. It was normal size and not worth $12. You have to purchase your sides separately so the 4 fries they gave me were an extra $3. Just not worth for what they charge. The waitress I will say was nice but that was all. I won’t be back!

This was my family first time at the forth worth stock yards and it was disappointing. First of all, we asked of there was a wait time and they said NO. We were seating for a while, no one stopped by to see if we need it something or to take our drink order. Finally someone showed up to take our drink order, she was disrespectful and annoyed that we were ready to order food. The place looked pretty empty in the front part of the restaurant but they kept sitting people in the back. We were there for more than 30min we had to walk away….. Most terrible restaurant experience.
