The Steakhouse of Helena was pretty much a disappointment for us. We really wanted it to become one of our go-to steak houses but it just didn’t happen. The parking is absolutely nonexistent. You can park behind the restaurant along the side of the street your other option is parking at nearby businesses. As for the service, we didn’t wait long to be seated but we waited forever for our food. When we finally did, we were not happy! The steaks we ordered well done actually ended up rare and the steaks we ordered medium-well ended up well done. I was not real excited with my steak portion size either! I ordered the daily special which included shrimp and steak. The special came with five shrimp which was OK but my steak was well undersized. It was supposed to be a 6oz or 8oz steak and come out about the size of my dinner roll. We did read some good reviews and we decided to eat at The Steakhouse of Helena and I’m sure its much better than what we got on our visit. But, on this visit, we didn’t get what we expected by a long shot! We’ll be back at some point and hopefully this steakhouse will become one of our go-to restaurants!

Omg… Can’t believe we waited so long to try this place. Food was amazing. I had steak tips with rice. He had chopped steak with gravy. Delicious! And definitely try the potatoes au gratin. Service was great too. Overheard a server talking to another server saying, “honestly, I can’t recommend certain things when they ask because everything is so good.” We will be back!

This place is a gem! I wanted a good steak and I definitely got it! The filet was cooked to perfection. The service was great. Jay was our server and he was awesome. All the food was on point. We had several drinks and enjoyed them all. The adult lemonade was my favorite. I will be back, epecially for a good steak!

Third time visit, after our First time visit, Birthdays for our ladies. Frances Ranelli Tombrella and Sandy Elkourie along with Fred Elkourie and myself enjoyed fabulous dinners, including Filet Mignon, a Petite Sirloin, plus two Ribeyes (Huge) and all were tasty and served with Herb Butter. The waitress was professional and personable. She gifted the ladies with Birthday Cheesecake slices. Overall an outstanding experience, and reasonably priced.

Went for early dinner last night. Disappointing experience. Waitress wasn’t friendly or attentive. She was training another girl who seemed to be much more personable… trainee should train the trainer in people skills. Drinks took an eternity to get. Food was good but wrong cut of steak. Waitress never checked on us so we just ate it. Side portions were tiny. Very loud “regulars” at the bar didn’t exactly add to the ambiance. Drinks were very good. Bill was wrong, and drinks were higher on bill than menu. They fixed on request. Wait staff is lacking… new trainee shows promise. Food was ready and waiting in kitchen window for a very long time… one burger/sandwich sat there for over 15 mins, same for several salads too. I rarely write these things but the owner/manager needs to know. Surely these things wouldn’t happen if he/she knew. Service was just that bad. Wasn’t crowded either.

Great steak with great price. I have had many steaks around Birmingham $50-$90 a steak. This place stands above them all and for $32 a steak! I live 30 minutes away and visit about every 2-2.5 weeks. All servers have been nice but my favorite has to be Jay. Anytime I have a guest visit from out of town I take them here and they leave full and impressed.

Everything we had was delicious. We had the onion tangles to start. I had the steak tips over rice with asparagus. Wife had the salmon(it was awesome) with twice baked potato and wedge salad…all yummy. And our son had the filet which was cooked a perfect medium rare. Service was very good as well.

Great food at a reasonable price! We each had the filet. Cooked to our desired doneness and well seasoned. Steamed broccoli was still a bit crunchy (my favorite way to eat broccoli) and the baked sweet potato was served with a cinnamon butter. Just right. My wife had a side salad and au gratin potatoes. We cleaned our plates!

Very, very impressed with this Steakhouse. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much but it was superior and far exceeded my expectations. Wedge Salad, Chicken Breasts, Salmon, and Steaks were all impressive. Great ambiance.
