Very friendly local sandwich shop. Was in town for work and saw the folk art mermaid sign. Owner and staff were very accommodating. The food was good, I love the dill potato salad. Atmosphere was colorful and beach themed. Will definitely visit again and am recommending it to my friends and coworkers!

The food was great! We both had everything omelettes (vegetarian/gluten free) which are served anytime. I had the best grits. Husband had potato salad and it was made from red potatoes – yummy! Staff very pleasant. It was a little warm in there or I’d give five stars.

I’ve been here many times since they opened. I believe this cafe is a real asset to the square. The space is a treasure trove of all things mermaid. A very fun and light-hearted place to grab a quick lunch. The food is well prepared and offers a unique take on classic cafe dishes. The staff is friendly and customer oriented.

From it’s new location on South Three Notch. My first time here. Love the decor giving anyone an adventurous seafaring feel. Food is delicious and served in a friendly manner. Fast and delightful is what I would describe this experience.

BEST LUNCH EVER! SUPPORT A LOCAL SMALL BUSINESS! We ordered the Uptown BLT and the ‘Surly’ Chicken Salad with bacon, lettuce, and fresh tomato on a croissant. They were both excellent! So fresh, and almost more than we could eat! They come with delicious choices of sides. I got the garden salad and it was so much more than your average garden salad! Yum! Everything we ordered was full of fresh ingredients, and so flavorful!

Irritating that we were not allowed to pick our own table. Table too high. When we ask for higher seat chairs, waiter couldn’t understand why. The retired military in our group were persistently encouraged to fill out online questionairre about PTSD in exchange for a discount. In order to get the waiter to get to the point of ordering, we said we were on a time line. He said “Well, we not McDonalds. If not for the unique decor of the place we would have left. BTW, we were only given the one paper towel our utensils were wrapped in as a napkin. We ordered sandwiches and had to ask for more paper towels. Decorations in the place were very amusing. Food ok. Waiter was just totally horrible!
