My wife and I are in the military and every time we’re in town visiting family, we make it a point to dine at Sushi Bar McCall. The experience is always exceptional, from the warm and attentive service to the outstanding quality of the food. The staff makes us feel right at home, and their dedication to providing top-notch service is evident in every interaction. The sushi is consistently fresh and delicious, prepared with care and attention to detail. The cozy atmosphere adds to the overall enjoyment, making each visit a memorable one. Sushi Bar McCall has truly become our go-to restaurant for a delightful dining experience, and we can’t recommend it enough to anyone looking for a combination of great service, delectable sushi, and a welcoming atmosphere.

My family has been in McCall for 10+ years and every time I come to visit Sushi Bar is an absolute must! I’ve seen it grow increasingly more popular and for good reason. Since McCall is such a summer time hot spot definitely plan for some patience and it’s nice to have a snack and a cocktail while you get ready for dinner; with it’s perfect location you’ll probably want to take a walk afterwards too. Being land locked in the mountains it is so refreshing to know there’s a top notch sushi place with amazing food, fun and friendly staff, awesome drinks, and incredible views! I’ve only seen this place get better and you can tell the management really cares about their customers and staff. Would recommend

Mediocre sushi, small portions, and HORRIBLE service. My group was seated 45 minutes after our reservation. We finally got our food another hour after we ordered. My friend paid for the group when we were done, then received several phone0calls until 11pm with messages saying the server made a “critical error”. They tried to say we owed an additional $213. My friend checked the itemized receipt and everything was correct on there. When she went back to clear everything up, they called her a liar and accused us of being too drunk to remember what we ate. 3 of us were completely sober, including the friend who paid. Not sure if they were confusing us with the group before us (the reason we were seated so late) or if they skipped out on the bill so they thought all of it was ours? Either way, the customer service is severely lacking here.

We had a reservation at 7pm, were told to wait and were finally seated 45 minutes later. When checking on our reservation 30 minutes into waiting, a waiter snapped at us to go back downstairs. This was following a previous check in where we asked if there was anything they could do about our reservation because we had a diabetic person in our group who wasn’t feeling good the longer we waited. The waitress who served us was kind and the food was alright, but it came out very inconsistently and late – with two people getting their meals 30 minutes after we were seated, and the remaining five people waiting 25 more minutes before they got their seven rolls of sushi. After paying our check and leaving, the restaurant called us multiple times, leaving messages about a grave error made by our waitress and demanding we pay an extra $213 for things we did not order. When we got ahold of them later that night, the waiter had no accountability and continuously demanded we pay for the ‘rest of our bill’. After saying we paid for what we ate and had an itemized receipt, he demanded the person who paid to text our receipt to him. The next day, the restaurant charged us the extra $213. One of our party members went in to resolve the issue tonight, and the waiter who made the call refused to believe her – going as far as to imply we were all drunk. While three of us were fully sober and did not drink that evening, the implication alone is extremely rude, and sums up the attitude we were met with. I wouldn’t recommend going there – especially if you’re already hungry, but good news is: there are a lot of other delicious restaurants in McCall!

Not quite a local but a person who visits often enough to know that this place rocks! Seems to have even improved in the last 2 years, hard to do! Food is stellar, service is top notch, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Staff always seem happy and genuine. 10/10 if you’re in McCall stop in.

I get sushi here every time I’m in town. It’s always a lovely experience. The staff is very kind & polite, the sushi is consistently on point, and it’s just an all around great vibe in there. I highly recommend this joint!

If I could give zero stars, I would! We were sat 45 minutes late for our res and when we said we had a diabetic with us they just gave us a menu so we could order when we sat. Some juice or protein would have been easy to get. We were charged an extra $200 after leaving the restaurant and were harassed with phone calls and texts until 11 pm by the manager. When we came into show our itemized receipt, the manager told us we ‘must’ve forgotten‘ the extra $200 dollars we spent (like that’s normal?) and that we could email the owner but he wouldn’t do anything. Not only is this fraud but the manger was a misogynist who needs to be out of the service industry with all the inappropriate actions he took!

My 7 friends and I dined here last Saturday for our friend’s bachelorette/wellness weekend. We had a reservation for 7pm and arrived on time. When we arrived we were told the table ahead of us wasn’t quite done yet. We checked back 20 minutes later and they informed us that the table had been done dining for a while and had closed out but they were just talking and told us to wait. On a busy Saturday summer night- I feel they should have politely told that table they had other reservations after them once they closed out. We had a diabetic in our party so a few minutes later we went back up to see if we could possibly order her something to eat since they weren’t going to move the table along. They gave us a menu and said they could serve us when we were sat and it shouldn’t be longer than 10 minutes. Ten minutes later (35 minutes after our reservation) we walked up and were yelled at in front of everyone dining by a clearly irate manager “You guys can’t be here. Get out of here- I said we will call you when we are ready” at this point it’s past our reservation and you’ve just talked to us like we are children. We go downstairs and contemplate just leaving- but our diabetic friend isn’t looking so good so we agreed that if we weren’t sat in 5 minutes we’d leave. We were luckily brought up within the 5 minutes, and the evening went seemingly well. Our food was good. A few of us had a few beers, but many in our party were sober. One of our friends who doesn’t drink handled the bill and we were on our way. This is where it gets super unprofessional- the manager called later that night saying we still owed $200 on the bill. Which my friend did pay. However. After looking at the itemized receipt we realized that we did not in fact owe them $200 more. In an attempt to rectify this we reached out to the manager and he simply said we must have been too drunk to notice and we can email the owner but he won’t believe us either.

The fact that you generally need to make reservations to get a good time to eat here should tell you how good it is! It is definitely one of our favorite sushi places!! I would recommend the honey toast dessert that has the ice cream and order it at the beginning cause it takes a while to make but is so worth the wait!!!

We arrived at The Sushi Bar in central Idaho with a little trepidation. I’ve been frequenting McCall since 1982 and a sushi restaurant seemed fantastic, but not very Idaho.
