I arrived two hours early in Summerville, SC for a baby shower. I was hungry and looked for a nearby restaurant to get some lunch. I ordered the shrimp hibachi and my daughter ordered the shrimp lo mein. The restaurant was well lit and clean. The shrimp hibachi was good but I’ve had some hibachi from Tokyo Grill that taste better. The rice was supposed to be fried, but it looked and tasted like it was steamed. I’m used to the meat and vegetables being poured on top of the rice instead of it being plated side by side. The white sauce was also runny instead of creamy. My daughter took a few bites of her shrimp lo mein, then took it to go. The lo mein had a lot of large chopped onion pieces, which made it harder to eat because it was a lot of raw onion. I prefer the onions to be cooked a little more.

I’ve been by here many times and finally stopped and had lunch last Saturday. Omg, why did I wait so long? Best calamari I’ve ever had, I thought it was a bit pricy for the portion size. The hibachi shrimp was delicious, vegetables were cooked perfectly, fairly priced. Service was good and people were friendly. I will definitely be going back.

This was one of our favorite Asian restaurants in the area. We went in tonight and the entire restaurant was being serviced by untrained high school children. We waited for drinks, soups, and appetizers. Eventually, we just asked for our food to go. Additionally, the menu is out of date and the restaurant itself was dirty. I gave it two stars since the food was still decent. I am very disappointed with what has happened to this place.

The Taste has a variety of Asian foods from Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine. The spring rolls weren’t great, but the entrees were really good, and plentiful (enough leftovers for another meal). My wife and I both had Thai dishes, which I recommend (Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles).

The food is delicious and plated attractively. I had the Bang Bang shrimp and spring rolls with chili dipping sauce. Our waitress was just attentive enough – orders taken quickly, drinks refreshed often, friendly. Prices are reasonable and the location is convenient for Summerville residents.
