Great choice for wines and nice varied menu. The salmon rillettes and the kale salad are excellent.

I hope the owners read this. As old town residents, we were really excited to see The Tasting Room open recently on king street. However, after our first visit tonight, we will not be returning. We ordered two Hendricks Gin Martinis which the bartender poured maybe 1 and 1/2 oz of gin and a bit of vermouth (standard pour for a gin martini is 2 and 1/2 oz of gin and 1/2 oz vermouth) in a TINY coup glass which looked half full even with two huge olives submerged. We thought, okay, the bartender just doesn’t know how to make a martini. Even though she asked if we’d like it shaken or stirred which is impressive. We usually let this kind of thing slide. Then we got the bill: $59 (after tip calculation) FOR TWO HENDRICKS MARTINIS IN OLD TOWN!!! WHATTT? This restaurant is not located in prime king street location. The highest top-notch restaurant/bars in the heart of old town charge $15 to $17 for a Hendricks Martini and they are filled to the brim. After receiving the bill, I said the prices were really high for old town and we got a really light pour. Staff was really nice but just seem inexperienced or pouring as they were taught.

The dishes are wonderfully executed. The arugula salad was a great blend of sweetness, acidity, and freshness. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Really enjoyed my experience at the restaurant.

Very chic location. Excellent french onion soup. It had to by far be the best french onion soup I ever had. The flatbreads were fantastic. The waiter was funny and kind and very attentive. Definitely a great spot for brunch.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Tasting Room, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Not only was the food exceptional, but the service provided by Jamie and Vanessa truly made it an unforgettable evening.

Ate hear last night and we were so satisfied with everything. The Executive Chef came over after the meal and greeted us to ask about the meal and say hello. The drinks were delicious and the plates were all equally tasty. The plates are small but was perfect for us as we were all sharing. Think Tapas and Cocktails. Highly recommend the Grilled Octopus, the French Onion Soup dip, the Italian BMT, and the Mushroom flatbread. *Chef’s Kiss*

Brabo Tasting Room is connected to the Kimpton Lorien Hotel and Spa, Alexandria, Virginia. After a long day of flying, always a good opportunity to check out the hotel restaurant and bar. I was certainly not disappointed and have plenty of leftovers too.

Small quiet setting. I sat at the bar during Happy Hour witch seemed a bit slow. One red wine and a mushroom flatbread pizza that was delicious. Bar tender could’ve been a bit more attentive.
