Out of my 1.6K reviews and almost 4M views…I hope EVERYONE finds The Tavern at Trails End near lake of the Ozarks! This was an outstanding experience from the quaint setting to the fantastic cuisine. Chef (John) and hostess (Sherri) are absolutely the best! It is rare that the chef comes out, explains the menu and the inspiration behind his creations and then checks in after the meal! Phenomenal, hands down 5 STARS. Waitress, Bethany was also amazing and so sweet to us. This was the best anniversary experience we have had to date in our 24 years 🙂 Well done, ALL! Even though the pics are good….they don’t compare to the flavor extravaganza you will experience here.

Look no further than this little gem off the beaten path for an awesome dining experience! An old log cabin has been beautifully incorporated into a cozy dining room. The service was perfect from start to finish! Mia, our server, was charming, accommodating, and spot-on with recommendations. John, the owner, made his wonderful presence known by personally ensuring our experience was top-notch. And the food?? Delicious wedge salad with a creamy perfect-heat dressing, “Sunday Chicken” (pictured) was fried to a delicious delicate crunch and placed atop nicely seasoned mashed potatoes alongside grilled broccollini. Our dessert was another win: an ultra generous slice of gooey butter cake (pictured) topped with chocolate sauce. We can’t wait to return!

Amazing food, and a nice atmosphere. We had a wine flight that was wonderful! All the food was tasty, and the salmon on my eggs benedict was cooked perfectly. The building itself is beautiful, although rustic. I heard it’s the oldest structure still standing at Lake of the Ozarks.

This is an amazing place! Great for friends, families, buds or a girls dinner. The owners treat their staff well and their staff treats customers like family! We are always getting the specials… the tomahawk ribeye and scallops last night were auperb! Such a charming location, and relatively new (and welcome) addition to the Ozarks!

For all great reasons, I end up at Trails End at least once every weekend I’m at the lake. John is working magic in the kitchen, Sherri greeting guests and doing everything else needed, and the wait and bar staff are exceptional! Shelly, Mia, and Allie keep me well fed, wined, and entertained. I love to sit at the bar and speak with other guests when it’s just me down. Favorite meals are the Pork Chop, Ribeye, Sunday Chicken, and the short rib grilled cheese is killer. Always check for John’s daily specials. They have a dock if you come by water, but you will be challenged to find a slip if you have anything bigger than about 30′. Get a reservation! They fill up quickly! Love these guys and what they offer the lake community.

The food and service were amazing. We came there for Valentines dinner, and they had some amazing specials to offer. I got the pork steak, which I’ll say was very amazing and flavorful. The food and drinks were a bit pricier than I expected for such a small restaurant but overall was a very good experience. The owner and staff were very attentive and kind.

Very unassuming from the outside. The interior and decor is refined rustic. We went for brunch and the food was delicious. I had the Bandito burrito and it was delicious and legitimately spicy. My wife had the BLT omelette and it was well cooked, however, her potato cake was gummy. I had a Bloody Mary and it was excellent, one of the best I’ve had at the lake. The service was great, too. I would recommend and go back.
