I absolutely love this place! The owners and employees are the nicest people. The restaurant and kitchen is extremely clean. The food is so delicious and the portions are ginormous! It takes a little while to get there but it’s a fun little adventure. If you have a low profile vehicle I don’t recommend driving it though.

Extremely friendly environment, huge tasty sub sandwiches and a monstrous deep fried taco.

We had seen Facebook posts advertising this restaurant and finally were able to go there. The roads there were a bit rough but definitely doable. This is a pay what you feel the meal was worth, or what you can afford, or pay extra to help someone else get a meal type establishment. That right there is pretty awesome. You order at the window and receive an envelope to put your money in. Then, before you leave, you deposit the money in the drop slot on the wall. The menu had subs, sandwiches, deep fried tacos, chips, Mac salad, pop, water, desserts, and more. Word of advice!!!!!! If you order a whole sub, it is 15 inches and just plain huge. I ordered a half sub and took half of it home. My fiance ordered the deep-fried taco, and it was also big. He said it was delicious. I believe you can pay with a debit or credit card, but I think cash would be the best thing to pay with. We will be going back again for sure.

A 30 minute drive from Charleston, the Trail Kitchen is a trip we’ve been looking forward to for a long time! I had first heard about it on their last day of the season in 2021. 2022 they didn’t open for personal reasons, so we were excited to hear about the opening this year!

The portions are huge, as are the hearts of the owners. A place in the country for a quiet lunch or dinner. It takes a drive to get there, but worth your time. (Who doesn’t love a Sunday Drive in the country?) Husband got the sun, I got the taco. Next time we want to try a salad!

We ate lunch on a Saturday. Arrived about 11:30 and service was quick. It was filling up by the time we were leaving around 12:15p. We had the Taco and my wife had a turkey sandwich both of which exceeded expectations. We can’t wait to go back for the giant sub!

Took a sunny day drive and found this gem. Such a fun little place. My daughter got a sun and it was huge! I got the tomato soup and grilled cheese and it was fantastic. Best soup I’ve ever eaten. We ate inside, but their deck outside is nice as well. The road is long getting there, but we took a minivan and made it fine, so it’s fully accessible by most vehicles.
