Fried thighs and wings are both good! OG Southern, Hot, and Lemon Pepper are solid flavors. For sides, the mac and cheese is bomb! Fried okra is good too, but not very crispy (maybe because it was take out). It’d be nice if they had more drink options. We would have dined in if so.

Great vibes, great food, great people. The building blocks of a successful restaurant. I had a chicken sandwich special with fries. Food came out hot and delicious. Fries have a nice season, and the sandwich’s produce was fresh.

I love the theme of this establishment! The writings on the wall, the music playing, and the various movies on the screens really set the mood. The food is freshly made and the wait isn’t bad at all because you’re distracted by all of the amazing art! I was wondering why there wasn’t any salt and pepper on the table, well it’s because the food is well seasoned and very delicious! I haven’t had a homemade burger like i had at this establishment since the 90s! I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family…evens strangers! BTW the menu on Google maps says they have patty melts but they aren’t aware of this…but they made me one anyway lol it was awesome!

Just no The chicken was pink and not done. Mac n cheese was disgusting. The tea drink I got was expired ‍♀️ I just got this food a few minutes ago and I already know I will never go back. I had to finish cooking the chicken in my air fryer. Black owed business should be ashamed

Best fried chicken I have had in a long time. Red Beans and Rice was amazing. Overall it was exceptional, friendly and valued perfect. Will definately be frequenting this spot and trying out the rest of the menu.

Sooo I don’t see how they have a 4 star rating because I have been here three times and they haven’t been open. Sign on the door says they are closed for the day. But the flashing neon light says they are open. Even got out to check the door……. They won’t update their status in google to reflect their hours of operation.

I get tryna make some money but throwing ingredients together and calling it a spread ain’t it! All the noodles and meat was at the bottom of the cheesy (cup) no taste to it at ALL! The first time I went to trap a week earlier the chicken was pink and cooked way to fast. Do better so you can get better! Are you in it for the money or the satisfaction? I’m all for black owned businesses but it’s a reason why “the Trap Kitchen” isn’t a house hold name.

I come to this restaurant at least once a week! Ironically, I just decided to take the time to post great feedback tonight after being there earlier today – brought a group of co-workers from out of town. I’m a little confused by the previous persons post???? The Trap Kitchen is my neighborhood staple go-to restaurant, they have great vibes, the food is amazing and the people who work there are always accommodating and pleasant. FAR from FAKE??? They are legit as the OG Wings that they serve! Not sure what prompted this guys review??? ….but maybe hes got OUR Trap Kitchen mixed up??? I would advise ANYONE who comes to Austin to check this place out.
