We had buffet at this place this weekend. My husband is a Bengali and we have been looking for authentic Bengali restaurant in this area and we thought we finally found one. Truly we were disappointed. This was a typical North Indian buffet with just Bengali names. We had Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Naans and Pooris.. ( oops luchis). While the Tandoor items were great, goat curry was tangy. We have had Goat curry earlier here, they were better. Desserts had a strong chemical taste. Poori in Paani poori was not freshly made. There were no fishes. Calling this as Bengali restaurant is just to tap in to the sentiments of Bengali people as they all long for one.

This is probably the only Kolkata Bengali style food serving restaurent in the Portland/Seattle area. I ordered Kolkata style Mutton Biryani, Mochar Chop, Echor torkari, Macher Paturi and Gurer roshogolla. I loved every single food of theirs as it does taste like Kolkata style cooking. Food is more in the expensive side but then again there isn’t much Kolkata style food options in the area. Gurer roshogolla could have been more softer but other than that all the food I ordered tasted great. I will be back again when in the Kirkland area.

I went here for the Sunday buffet. I was anticipating the crowd here after reading some reviews but there was enough sitting available at 12 PM. The place got a bit crowded after 1 PM though.

We loved this restaurant because they served Kolkata-style cuisine. We tried their Kolkata-style mutton biryani and Golbarir Kosha Mangsho, both of which had an authentic flavor. I had been craving Kolkata-style cuisine in the USA, and finally, I found the right place!! The employees were also very friendly and attentive!!

Expensive. We liked the mangshor chop. But chicken korma and the chicken biryani… nope. They added coconut on top of the chicken korma. A big no for me. Kolkata style biryani was not authentic. It lacked the aroma. The taste was not same as we get in Kolkata.

The first thing you will notice when you enter is the beautiful instrumental versions of old bollywood music playing lightly. Gives a great vibe.
