Loved this restaurant! I came here after a long day at the beach for a bite to eat and a drink! The grouper tacos were to die for! So good!! And the pesto pasta was also awesome! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here! Plus, the atmosphere is great. Love the live music and the little ring toss game they have!

We ate here with a party of 11 and had to wait quite a bit. They do have an open area in the back where you can play games and take your pic with the Ugly Grouper sculpture. They had a guy playing live music as well. They have a bar if you get hot and need some drinks to cool down because all seating is outdoors and in the summer it gets extremely hot here because there is no breeze where they are at. We got the coconut shrimp as an app and they were very good. The fried green tomatoes were good as well. I got the grouper tacos and this must be one of their staples and it was different. It is plenty enough to share with another person. Needed more grouper fish in them but other than that they are very good. My wife ordered a shrimp cocktail app as her main and they were some of the biggest shrimp I’ve ever seen. Prob too big for an app. All and all I would say you def need to come here at least once to see what the fuss is about. Nobody got sick from our trip here so if they had an issue before it is fixed now. The food did take a little while to come out but they were at full capacity so not much to complain about. Visited the Ugly Grouper and it was a pleasantly delightful moment. Order the Cheese Logs delicious also had the Grouper Tacos made of cheese shell absolutely delicious I really enjoyed them . But above all the service that was provided by LUCAS my Server was Amazing, Attentive, Great with Suggestions and being available for requests. I Gotta say he made the visit pleasant and an overall 10! Also Ryan the bartender awesome service. I Absolutely recommend it if you are in the Anna Maria Island Area give the Ugly Grouper a visit u won’t regret it.

This place has a great outdoor setting. The band was very good and the food was excellent!! I was a little disappointed in the portion of my grouper as I thought it was small for the price. But, it was delicious and the rice was very good as well. Service was good. The Grouper Reubens are fantastic! I regretted not getting the tacos as they looked amazing going by. Over all we enjoyed our time and meal here but it doesn’t make my must stop/go out of your way to eat here list. I would eat here again for sure, but would like to try other local venues first. The place is fun and vibrant, and your kids will be entertained as you eat here with ring toss games, the giant steel grouper, and wax string to play with.

The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was fun, everything was great. So glad to go to such a nice place after the bad experience I had at another hot spot in the area (Hurricane Hanks). This is definitely the best spot in the area. I had the Polynesian Pineapple boat, the grouper on top was fantastic and the risotto was great. Would recommend.

Out of all the places we ate on AMI, this was our favorite. Came to eat dinner on a Sunday night, and we were seated pretty fast,no reservations. Host and server were both extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant does need a lil renovation, they have a ton of fans out and umbrellas to combat the heat. The food is amazing though and well worth it. Everything we ordered was full of flavor and kick and all the portions were huge. there are many options on the menu and everything is fresh. definitely try out the pasta with shrimp and the grouper tacos. Can’t wait to come back here.

Very popular spot on the island! Drinks are cold and food is good. The portions are large but it is a little pricey. I’m really not sure how one person can have an appetizer and finish the grouper tacos – they’re huge! Consider splitting, there are two.
