My daughter and I are traveling across the country. We were lucky enough to find Vanilla Bean! The restaurant has a great atmosphere and friendly service! There are small cozy rooms along with curtained private alcoves.

Passing through Alva on our way to a state park for camping, and stopped at Vanilla Bean for coffee. Was pleasantly surprised to see how well they are able to utilize their small space & staff. Cozy space and atmosphere. We were greeted with a full kitchen, bakery, and bar. Our party had the monte christo sandwich with house made mac & cheese that was to die for, tomato basil soup with bacon avocado grilled cheese, and a club wrap. We also got one of their giant, fresh made cinnamon rolls to go. Definitely recommend for a pit stop or a tasty lunch/dinner option.

So great we came back the next day. Would highly recommend for dinner AND breakfast! The bloody Mary bar and charcuterie are fantastic! So are the desserts. Most are made by the owners wife. We met the owner and he was so nice and welcoming. We truly enjoyed our visit here. Service, ambiance, food, I give all 5 stars!

Very clean establishment and food was plated beautiful. The food was also good and my mocha was spot on, not too sweet like so many are. We both had BLT sandwiches; very good. The fries had a special little sprinkle of spice that was nice and the broccoli salad is made in house. Our only complaint; staff was not very welcoming or super friendly.. the atmosphere made up for that shortfall. Overall, we’d recommend them and go back if ever in the area.

Cute cafe and restaurant located on the highway. Tastefully decorated rooms inside and a spacious (covered) outside patio provide plenty of seating for large and small groups. Extensive menu for all day dining and a cute bar make this a great option while in Alva or traveling thru. Easy parking.
